family-or-group-trip

family-or-group-trip is a skill for Claude Code from AwardTravelFinder/mcp. It costs 60 tokens per session (558 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A points-trip planner for two or more travellers. It finds award seats—airline seats paid for with loyalty points—together and works out how to combine points from different accounts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan family or group flights, check availability for enough seats, compare ways to transfer points, and divide the points cost.
Why use it?
It avoids searching for separate seats and manually calculating how much each person should contribute. It also shows when the whole group cannot travel on one flight and a split is needed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00060 $0.00558
Opus 5.5 $0.00024 $0.00223
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00112
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00056

Security

Grade A, and why

family-or-group-trip scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 20d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Plan a family or group award trip

The tools named below are on the Award Travel Finder MCP connector. If they are not available, tell the user to connect https://mcp.awardtravelfinder.com/mcp (setup: https://awardtravelfinder.com/developers/mcp).

Plan: needs Premium: search_multi_passenger, search_monthly_availability, compare_transfer_options; needs Pro: create_client_portfolio, generate_branded_pdf. If the user is on the free plan, tell them before you call these tools, and use the free steps where the skill gives one.

1. Collect the inputs

  • Need origin, destination, dates, cabin and passenger count. Ask only for what is unknown.
  • Call list_points_balances. Ask if other travellers have their own balances or household pooling.

2. Search for seats together

  • Call search_multi_passenger with the passenger count. It drops single-seat results.
  • For a month, call search_monthly_availability and keep only days with enough seats.
  • No result for the full group: search for a split (e.g. 2 + 2 on two flights the same day), and say so.

3. Split the cost

  • Points needed = points per person x passengers.
  • Call compare_transfer_options with the total points needed.
  • If one balance is short, combine balances: transfer from 2 currencies, or use a household pool.
  • Check whats_on_sale for a transfer bonus or a buy-points sale. Call get_buy_points_pricing to cost a top-up.

4. Book safely

  • Load get_skill with key award-holds.
  • Book all passengers on one reservation when one programme pays. Transfer points before you book only when the seats show live for all passengers.

5. Follow-ups

  • Offer create_route_monitor with the passenger count when seats are short.
  • For advisors: save the plan with create_client_portfolio and offer generate_branded_pdf.

Output format

  1. Best option: flight, seats available, points per person, total points, taxes.
  2. Split: who pays what from which balance.
  3. Booking steps.
  4. Fallback split option.

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
