AWS MCP Servers is a collection of Model Context Protocol servers that let AI agents access AWS documentation and services through standardized tools. It is for developers building coding agents or other software that works with AWS. The catalogue includes MCP servers and related add-ons for using AWS through agents.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00258 | $0.03906 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00103 | $0.01562 |

Grade A, and why
redshift-guide scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 137 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Amazon Redshift Guide
Redshift is NOT PostgreSQL (read first)
Redshift speaks PostgreSQL's wire protocol and shares much of its surface syntax, so
LLMs assume PostgreSQL behavior carries over — it frequently does not. Divergences span
system tables (pg_catalog is incomplete), DDL (no indexes, no sequences), functions
(string_agg, SUBSTR on tables, leader-node-only functions), types (a text column
becomes VARCHAR(256)), and comparison semantics (trailing blanks, unenforced constraints). Assume
divergence and verify against the reference below — do not answer from PostgreSQL habit.
Common PostgreSQL→Redshift divergences are in references/redshift-sql-syntax.md.
This guide ships with this server. Run the SQL it recommends, SHOW commands and system views
included, through execute_query, one statement per call. The list_* tools discover clusters,
databases, schemas, tables and columns, and review_cluster runs a cluster review. To load a
reference this guide cites, call retrieve_skill_file with the path exactly as cited. This
server runs no AWS CLI command: give the user the ones this guide shows, or run them with another
tool you have. The database user this server connects as sees only its own rows (the queries it
generated) in the system views, with no error, unless it is a superuser or has sys:monitor or
SYSLOG ACCESS UNRESTRICTED; some views refuse it with permission denied instead
→ references/redshift-auth-authorization.md.
STEP 0: Serverless or Provisioned?
Establish this before answering — APIs, system tables, and capabilities differ. Take it
from the question when it says which one, else from the type of the target's list_clusters
entry; ask only when neither settles it. SELECT version() does not identify it.
- Serverless — identified by a workgroup (and namespace). Data API calls take
--workgroup-name; the user says "workgroup"/"Serverless". - Provisioned — identified by a cluster. Data API calls take
--cluster-identifier; the user says "cluster".

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

redshift-guide is a skill published in the GitHub repository awslabs/mcp (9,889 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 258 tokens to every session and 3,906 once invoked, about $0.0010 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
