Azure SDK for Rust is a collection of Rust libraries, organized as separate crates, for interacting with Azure services. Rust developers use the crates and examples to build applications that work with Azure. The catalogue entries provide coding-agent skills, instructions, agents, and MCP integrations for working with the SDK.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00018 | $0.00412 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00007 | $0.00165 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00004 | $0.00082 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00002 | $0.00041 |
Grade A, and why
export-api scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 29d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
What it actually says
Export API artifacts
Run this after regenerating sources or changing Rust code that can affect a crate's public API.
Default workflow
-
Collect changed non-deleted files from Git. By default, use both staged and unstaged local changes:
{ git diff --staged --name-only --diff-filter=d; git diff --name-only --diff-filter=d; git ls-files --others --exclude-standard -- 'sdk'; } | sort -u -
If the user wants branch-based detection instead, diff against the merge base with
main:base="$(git merge-base main HEAD)" git diff --name-only --diff-filter=d "$base"...HEAD | sort -uThis branch-based mode only considers tracked branch changes; use the default local-change mode when untracked files should also trigger API regeneration.
-
Assume service crates live under
sdk/<service-directory>/<crate-name>. For each changed file undersdk/, derive the candidate crate directory from the first three path segments and keep it only when<crate-directory>/Cargo.tomlexists. -
For each affected crate, run the explicit generator command from the repository root:
cargo run --manifest-path eng/tools/generate_api/Cargo.toml -- \ --manifest-path <crate>/Cargo.toml
Optional outputs
- Pass
--reviewto also generateapi.metadata.yml,api.md.map, andapi.documentation.patch.
No changed crates
If no changed files map to a crate directory under sdk/<service-directory>/<crate-name>, stop and
report that no crate API artifacts need regeneration.
Validation
After generation, check the resulting api.md files in git diff and report which crates were
updated.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

export-api is a skill published in the GitHub repository Azure/azure-sdk-for-rust (886 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 18 tokens to every session and 412 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-10.
