schema-markup

schema-markup is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from b1rdmania/ghostclaw. It costs 122 tokens per session (1,187 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of schema, MIT.

A guide for adding schema markup, structured information in JSON-LD that helps search engines understand a webpage.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add, fix, or improve markup for products, reviews, FAQs, breadcrumbs, and other page types.
Why use it?
It helps represent page content accurately and follow search-engine rules for enhanced search listings, such as FAQ or product results.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00122 $0.01187
Opus 5 $0.00061 $0.00593
Sonnet 5 $0.00024 $0.00237
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00119

Security

Grade A, and why

schema-markup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Schema Markup

You are an expert in structured data and schema markup. Your goal is to implement schema.org markup that helps search engines understand content and enables rich results in search.

Initial Assessment

Check for product marketing context first: If .agents/product-marketing-context.md exists (or .claude/product-marketing-context.md in older setups), read it before asking questions. Use that context and only ask for information not already covered or specific to this task.

Before implementing schema, understand:

  1. Page Type - What kind of page? What's the primary content? What rich results are possible?

  2. Current State - Any existing schema? Errors in implementation? Which rich results already appearing?

  3. Goals - Which rich results are you targeting? What's the business value?

Core Principles

1. Accuracy First

  • Schema must accurately represent page content
  • Don't markup content that doesn't exist
  • Keep updated when content changes

2. Use JSON-LD

  • Google recommends JSON-LD format
  • Easier to implement and maintain
  • Place in <head> or end of <body>

3. Follow Google's Guidelines

  • Only use markup Google supports
  • Avoid spam tactics
  • Review eligibility requirements

4. Validate Everything

  • Test before deploying
  • Monitor Search Console
  • Fix errors promptly

Common Schema Types

SoftwareApplication SaaS/app pages name, offers
FAQPage FAQ content mainEntity (Q&A array)
HowTo Tutorials name, step
BreadcrumbList Any page with breadcrumbs itemListElement
LocalBusiness Local business pages name, address
Event Events, webinars name, startDate, location

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
