velocity.report: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/lidar-market-review/SKILL.md

lidar-market-review is a skill for Claude Code from banshee-data/velocity.report. It costs 42 tokens per session (2,568 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A scheduled research procedure for reviewing spinning LiDAR products and current new and used offers. LiDAR is a sensor that measures distance with laser pulses.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for maintaining a documented LiDAR market watch without changing production code.
Why use it?
It keeps market information current while separating product facts from sales listings and preserving dated evidence.

This is banshee-data/velocity.report's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on velocity.report itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything velocity.report configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00042 $0.02568
Opus 5.5 $0.00017 $0.01027
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00514
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00257

Measured 25d ago against content hash d5cc9644d9d5, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

lidar-market-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 25d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill: lidar-market-review

Keep the LiDAR market watch current: separate model facts from offers, replace the latest assessment, and preserve dated evidence in docs/platform/hardware/lidar-market-reviews/YYYY.md. Research and documentation only; never change production code.

Usage

/lidar-market-review # review dated today (UTC)
/lidar-market-review 2026-10-19 # review with an explicit date

The page is the source of truth for selection thresholds, freshness, and entry format. This skill holds the procedure. A caller, such as the scheduled routine, owns branch, commit, push, and notification. Changing this procedure does not change the routine's fortnightly schedule.

Procedure

1. Read the current assessment and relevant history

Read the page's Selection rule, Latest, and Entry format, then follow its latest research link. Read earlier observations when a carried fact, offer, or correction depends on them.

  • Record the selection-rule version and thresholds used: currently 100 m or more at 10% reflectivity, 360° multi-ring spinning, Ethernet UDP, and LiDAR plus IMU under US $500 (about US $450 for a used LiDAR).
  • Built-in IMU is preferred, not required; weight and power must be vendor-stated. Parser compatibility needs checking separately from Ethernet UDP.
  • Keep the latest assessment on the stable page. Choose the archive from the review's UTC year, even when a source or corrected entry belongs to another year.
  • If that year's archive does not exist, create it with an opening paragraph linking to the current page and a ## Reviews section; add one year link to the page's Log index. Leave earlier years closed to new reviews.
  • Stop and report if the page lacks its model/listing sections; do not reconstruct the assessment from memory.

2. Research

Search the web. Attempt to re-check every tracked model and offer, then look for newcomers. Send independent searches together. Record blocked or omitted checks explicitly.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
