drawio

drawio is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from baoduy/drunk-mcp-proxy. It costs 32 tokens per session (4,626 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for creating and exporting draw.io diagrams, such as flowcharts, architecture diagrams, and organizational charts. Draw.io is a diagram editor that can use XML, Mermaid text, or CSV data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Creating project diagrams, previewing one-off visualizations, keeping diagram files under version control, and exporting PNG, SVG, or PDF files.
Why use it?
It provides repeatable ways to turn structured descriptions into editable diagrams or documentation images.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00032 $0.04626
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.02313
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00925
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00463

Measured 4d ago against content hash 94354f62ca23, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

drawio scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Draw.io Diagram Skill

Generate professional diagrams using draw.io MCP server (opens in browser) or create .drawio files with optional PNG/SVG/PDF export for version control.

Quick Start - Choose Your Workflow

🎨 Iterative Edit Workflow (Recommended for Project Diagrams)

When to use: Creating/updating project documentation, need to iterate on design

  • Generates XML → Saves .drawio file to project root → Opens in draw.io for editing
  • Persistent file for ongoing edits and version control
  • User can continue editing the same file instead of regenerating
  • Best for: Architecture diagrams, flowcharts that evolve with the project

🚀 MCP Browser Workflow (Quick Preview)

When to use: Quick visualization, one-off exploration, prototyping

  • Generates diagram → Opens in browser instantly → User saves if needed
  • No files created unless user explicitly saves from draw.io
  • Supports XML (full control), Mermaid (easy syntax), CSV (org charts)
  • Best for: Exploring ideas, debugging flows, temporary visualizations

📸 Export Workflow (Documentation Assets)

When to use: Need PNG/SVG/PDF for documentation, presentations, wikis

  • Generates XML → Creates .drawio file → Exports to format → Opens result
  • Export formats: PNG, SVG, PDF with embedded XML (editable)
  • Best for: README images, documentation, presentations

Method 1: Iterative Edit Workflow (Primary for Projects)

Use when: User says "create diagram", "update diagram", or mentions project architecture

Step 1: Determine filename

  • Use descriptive name based on diagram type: architecture.drawio, auth-flow.drawio, class-diagram.drawio
  • Check if file already exists in project root
  • If exists, inform user you're updating the existing file
  • If new, use sensible default name

Step 2: Generate XML content

Create mxGraphModel XML with proper structure and styling

Step 3: Save to project root

# Save to workspace root
create_file(
    filePath="/Users/steven/_CODE/drunk-mcp-proxy/architecture.drawio",
    content=xml_content
)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
