bayes-platform: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/custom-repository/SKILL.md

custom-repository is a skill for Claude Code from bayesimpact/bayes-platform. It costs 43 tokens per session (1,261 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for adding a custom data repository to a NestJS service so the service does not use TypeORM directly. TypeORM is a library that maps application objects to database tables; the repository keeps that database code in one place and can join existing transactions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when saving data from a service, adding a repository method, or moving a TypeORM query out of a service.
Why use it?
It separates business logic from database queries and avoids each service handling persistence differently. It also ensures repository calls made inside a transaction use that transaction.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.01261
Opus 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00504
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00252
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00126

Security

Grade A, and why

custom-repository scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 119 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Custom repository

Services do not use TypeORM. Persistence goes through an @Injectable() {Entity}Repository whose public methods are named for the operation. The repository reads the TypeORM manager from TransactionService at call time, so a call inside transactionService.run() joins that transaction.

This skill explains how to add one. It does not replace:

  • .cursor/rules/api-custom-repositories.mdc — the rule Cursor applies on service and repository files
  • .claude/skills/crud-generator/SKILL.md — emits a repository as part of full CRUD boilerplate
  • ADR 0020 — why TypeORM stays out of services

Many existing services still inject Repository<T>. Do not copy them.

Add a repository

Create apps/api/src/domains/{domain}/{entity}.repository.ts:

import { Injectable } from "@nestjs/common"
import type { Repository } from "typeorm"
// biome-ignore lint/style/useImportType: Required at runtime for NestJS DI
import { TransactionService } from "@/common/transaction/transaction.service"
import { Project } from "./project.entity"

export type ProjectRecord = {
  id: string
  organizationId: string
  name: string
}

@Injectable()
export class ProjectRepository {
  constructor(private readonly transactionService: TransactionService) {}

  async createProject(params: { organizationId: string; name: string }): Promise<ProjectRecord> {
    const saved = await this.repo().save(this.repo().create(params))
    return { id: saved.id, organizationId: saved.organizationId, name: saved.name }
  }

  private repo(): Repository<Project> {
    return this.transactionService.getManager().getRepository(Project)
  }
}

Rules for that file:

  • TransactionService is a value import with the biome-ignore comment. A type-only import is undefined at runtime and Nest cannot inject it.
  • Call getManager().getRepository(Entity) inside the method (via a private repo()), not in the constructor. getManager() returns the manager stored for the current transactionService.run(), or the default manager outside one.
  • Public methods take and return plain values, records, or the entity. They do not accept or return Repository<T>, SelectQueryBuilder, FindOperator, or EntityManager.
  • Name the method for the operation (createProject, findSummariesByProject, softDelete). Do not expose find, save, or create.
  • Raw SQL, when it is needed, uses this.transactionService.getManager().query(...) so it joins the same transaction. See platform-role.repository.ts.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

custom-repository is a skill published in the GitHub repository bayesimpact/bayes-platform (23 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 43 tokens to every session and 1,261 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-30.
