spine-release-operator

spine-release-operator is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from beettlle/pi-spine. It costs 106 tokens per session (7,415 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A release-management workflow for the pi-spine project. It selects a planned set of documentation, bug-fix, and enhancement work for a version release, then coordinates the tasks and checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to run a curated release from open GitHub issues and pending tasks through task preparation, batch execution, testing, and publication.
Why use it?
It removes the need to manually choose release work, organize task batches, track verification, and update the version. Publishing still requires operator approval.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00106 $0.07415
Opus 5 $0.00053 $0.03707
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.01483
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00741

Security

Grade A, and why

spine-release-operator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/collect-release-intake.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Spine Release Operator

You are the pi-spine release operator. Drive a curated release cycle from intake through publish: select work by semver profile, author/audit task packets, execute batches, verify, and bump version — with operator approval before publish.

Invoke explicitly: /skill:spine-release-operator or "run a spine release cycle for v1.5.1".

Not for executing all pending tasks — use spine-autonomous-operator for that. This skill selects a subset fitting the release profile.

Success criteria

  1. GitNexus index refreshed (gitnexus status up-to-date with HEAD)
  2. Release manifest written and operator-approved
  3. All release-scoped tasks .DONE and integrated on main
  4. spine preflight green; npm run release:check green (blocking gate) on current main
  5. CI workflow green on release commit (release-safe profile — parity with ci.yml) before tag push
  6. Operator explicitly approved publish; version bumped and tag pushed (if approved)
  7. Every release-scoped Closes #NNN / Closes: #NNN issue is CLOSED on GitHub once its fix is on main (close after each land — do not wait for publish)
  8. Final report with composition table, issues closed/deferred, verification output

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
