Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00044 | $0.00548 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00018 | $0.00219 |

Grade A, and why
start scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
What it actually says
The user ran the Career Compass start command. Follow the career-compass skill's "First contact" guidance.
- If the Career Compass tools are available, call
check_setup(offline; do not passcheckForUpdates). If they are not, you are most likely in claude.ai chat: follow the career-compass skill's chat mode (no setup talk, no Node.js), and skip the saving steps below in favor of the Career Compass card. - If they pasted a résumé and a posting, do the fit check: that is the start. If they
pasted only a résumé below, give value first: three role titles at the level it
supports today, each with its one line of evidence, and the two bullets a screener
would skip and why. Then extract it with
ingest_documentand offer to save each section withsave_career_section, asking about the vaguest claims as you go. - If they pasted nothing and the KB is empty (or there are no tools), the whole reply is one first step: "Paste or attach your résumé (a PDF is fine) and one job you're considering, and I'll tell you how well you fit, the top two gaps, and what to fix before you apply." Then at most one line: they can say "show me a sample first" to see a fit check on the fictional Alex Rivera profile (see the career-compass skill). No list of features. If they pasted a Career Compass card, follow the skill's card guidance instead.
- If the KB is already filled in, say what is there in two lines and ask what they are working on: a posting, an interview, or an offer.
Keep it short. One question at a time. Slash commands work in Claude Code and Cowork; in claude.ai chat the user just asks in plain words.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

start is a skill published in the GitHub repository benskamps/career-compass-mcp (6 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 44 tokens to every session and 548 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-03.
