standup

A workflow that builds a daily standup summary from recent Git commits, current project changes, task clues, and open pull requests. A standup is a short update on completed work, current work, and blockers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Preparing the Yesterday, Today, and Blockers sections of a daily team update, including recent changes, unfinished work, failing tests, merge conflicts, and unresolved TODO comments.
Why use it?
It turns scattered development activity into a consistent status update without requiring someone to review every commit and file manually.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00017 $0.00341
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00170
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00034

Measured 2d ago against content hash 7d9de929d60b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

standup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Standup Skill

Generate a daily standup summary from recent git activity, task status, and project state.

Process

  1. Get recent git commits from the last 24 hours:

git log --since="24 hours ago" --oneline --all

  2. Get current branch and uncommitted changes:

    git status
    git diff --stat

  3. Look for TODO/FIXME comments in recently changed files:

    • Identify files changed in the last 24 hours with git diff --name-only HEAD~5 (or similar)
    • Search those files for TODO, FIXME, HACK, or XXX comments using Grep
  4. Check for open PRs:

    gh pr list --author @me

  5. Summarize everything into the standup format below.

Output Format

Yesterday: [What was completed based on commits — summarize the work, not individual commit messages]

Today: [What's in progress based on current branch, uncommitted changes, and open PRs]

Blockers: [Any issues detected — failing tests, merge conflicts, stale PRs, unresolved TODOs]

Keep each section to 1-3 bullet points. Be concise but specific. If there is no activity for a section, say "None" rather than making something up.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

standup is a skill published in the GitHub repository billbuchanan-code/claude-code-power-setup (2 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 17 tokens to every session and 341 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
