deck-compiler

deck-compiler is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Biolytics-AI/rhetoric-engine. It costs 36 tokens per session (880 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A method for turning approved presentation plans and supporting material into an editable slide deck or deck specification. It can work with formats such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, HTML, or Markdown when a suitable backend is available.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compile an editable presentation, add speaker notes for extra detail, and record what was cut, moved, split, or left as a risk.
Why use it?
It provides a controlled final compilation step after the message, evidence, slide structure, and design decisions have been approved.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00036 $0.00880
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00440
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00176
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00088

Security

Grade A, and why

deck-compiler scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Deck Compiler

Compile approved rhetorical artifacts into an editable deck spec or actual deck. Use the available backend or artifact pipeline: PPTX, Google Slides, HTML slides, Markdown slides, or another editable format.

Never compile before the approved intent, approved insight, approved argument spine, approved slide thesis map, and relevant Phase 2 artifacts are present.

Inputs

  • Approved intent brief, insight artifact, argument spine, and slide thesis map.
  • Relevant Phase 2 design, visual, and evidence artifacts: cognitive design QC, visual reasoning plan, evidence dossier, or approved equivalents.
  • Content distillation outputs only if already produced or explicitly provided as a Phase 3 companion input: distilled deck spec, moved-to-notes list, cut list, split recommendations, and risk notes.
  • Source materials, brand or format constraints, target medium, duration, and backend availability.
  • Existing deck or template when the user asks to revise or conform to one.

Outputs

  • Editable deck spec or editable deck in the best available backend.
  • Speaker notes containing overflow, caveats, backup proof, and delivery guidance.
  • Compilation notes covering backend used, assumptions, unresolved gaps, and manual follow-ups.
  • Inspection report for thesis drift, layout issues, overflow, accessibility risks, and editability.

Workflow

  1. Verify all hard-gate artifacts are present and approved; stop and route upstream if any are missing, stale, or contradicted.
  2. Choose the most suitable available editable output pipeline without imposing renderer-specific requirements.
  3. Preserve each slide thesis as the controlling claim for its slide.
  4. Translate approved evidence, visual reasoning, cognitive design guidance, and any provided content distillation outputs into editable slide content.
  5. Keep one idea per slide; move supporting detail, defensive proof, caveats, and overflow into speaker notes.
  6. Preserve citations, provenance, and backup evidence where provided.
  7. Generate or update the deck artifact without flattening editable text, shapes, charts, or notes unless no editable alternative exists.
  8. Inspect generated slides for thesis drift, overloaded layouts, missing notes, broken reading order, inaccessible contrast, and backend conversion issues.
  9. Return the deck or deck spec with the inspection report and any required handoff notes.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
