gopherstack: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/gopherstack-session-close/SKILL.md

gopherstack-session-close is a skill for Claude Code from BlackbirdWorks/gopherstack. It costs 115 tokens per session (1,290 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A required checklist for ending a coding session in the gopherstack repository. It records unfinished work, runs relevant checks, updates work items, pushes commits, and confirms the local copy matches the remote repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when wrapping up work in this repository to create follow-up issues, run gates, update issue status, audit the branch, rebase from Git, push changes, and check that Git is up to date.
Why use it?
It prevents unfinished tasks, unrun checks, and committed changes from being left only on your computer. It also makes session handoffs easier to verify.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00115 $0.01290
Opus 5.5 $0.00046 $0.00516
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00258
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00129

Security

Grade A, and why

gopherstack-session-close scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

gopherstack session close

Work is not complete until git push succeeds and git status shows up to date with origin. Committed-but-unpushed work is stranded and the exact failure this protocol exists to prevent. Never end a session on "ready to push when you are" — push it yourself.

Pre-flight checklist

  1. Anything left to do? File a bd issue for it — don't leave it in your head or a comment.
  2. Did code change? Run the gate subset for what changed (see gopherstack-gates skill for the decision table; short version below).
  3. Any bd issues you worked finished, or in progress? Update their status.
  4. Run the push sequence below, in order, without skipping steps.
  5. Confirm git status literally says up to date with origin before reporting done.

Ordered close sequence

# 1. File issues for anything unfinished (repeat per item)
bd create --title="<title>" --description="<desc>" --type=task --priority=<0-4>

# 2. Gates, only if code changed — see gate-subset table below

# 3. Update tracker state
bd update <id> --claim # if you're taking something on
bd close <id> [--reason="<why>"]

# 4. Audit trailers on the branch, before the PR is squashed; reconcile any
# TRAILER MISMATCH / TYPO'D TRAILER ID findings
task bd-audit

# 5. MANDATORY push sequence — do not stop partway
# Do NOT run `bd dolt push`: embedded Dolt, no remote, silently does nothing
git pull --rebase
git add .beads/issues.jsonl # bd's auto-export hook usually does this
git push
git status # MUST show "up to date with origin"

If git push fails, resolve and retry until it succeeds. Do not leave the session with unpushed commits, even if the failure looks like someone else's problem (rebase conflict, stale branch, etc.) — resolve it.

Gate subset by what changed

what changed run before closing
Nothing (pure investigation/planning) none — but still push any bd issue changes
One service's Go code go test -race ./services/<svc>/...
Shared pkgs/ code go build ./... plus tests for every consumer you touched
Anything you intend to open a PR from full gate: task lint && task test && task build-linux && task integration-test

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
