gopherstack: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/reset-caches/SKILL.md

reset-caches is a skill for Claude Code from BlackbirdWorks/gopherstack. It costs 74 tokens per session (349 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A development-machine reset command that stops selected servers, test programs and containers, then removes caches, temporary files, old logs and safe worktrees. It also cleans unused Docker data without deleting tracked repository files or the Go module cache.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after tests or builds leave processes, containers, caches or temporary files behind, or when disk space is low. It can also remove clean, fully pushed Git worktrees.
Why use it?
It removes stale test state and frees disk space when a development environment has accumulated leftovers. A soft mode cleans caches without stopping running work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00074 $0.00349
Opus 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00140
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

reset-caches scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (reset.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run .claude/skills/reset-caches/reset.sh and report what was stopped and the before/after free space.

  • "Reset" means a whole-system reset (user, 2026-10-17): it stops running gopherstack serve processes (including the long-running one on 8123/8081/10000-10002/1883), *.test binaries, and every gopherstack-* or testcontainers container, so no stale test state survives. Agents' in-flight test containers die too — only run it when the user asks.
  • --soft: skip the kill phase; cache cleanup only, safe while builds run (entries younger than AGE_MIN=60 min kept if a Go build is active).
  • --force: wipe the Go cache fully even if a build is active (implied by a full reset).
  • --other-scratch: also remove other Claude sessions' scratch dirs untouched for a day.
  • Worktrees: removes every linked worktree that is clean and fully pushed; dirty or unpushed ones are listed and kept.
  • Docker: prunes unused images, build cache and unattached volumes after the kill phase.
  • Never deletes the module cache (go env GOMODCACHE) or anything tracked in the repo.
Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

reset-caches is a skill published in the GitHub repository BlackbirdWorks/gopherstack (17 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 74 tokens to every session and 349 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
