kanban-lite: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/kanban-storage-plugin-author/SKILL.md

kanban-storage-plugin-author is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from borgius/kanban-lite. It costs 89 tokens per session (1,932 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for creating an npm package that stores kanban board cards or attachments through an external provider. Kanban boards organize work as cards moving through stages such as to do, doing, and done.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold a new card-storage or attachment-storage package, including its manifest, TypeScript files, build settings, and setup documentation.
Why use it?
It provides the required package structure and exports so kanban-lite can discover and load the storage provider from its configuration.

This is borgius/kanban-lite's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on kanban-lite itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything kanban-lite configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00089 $0.01932
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.00966
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00386
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00193

Security

Grade A, and why

kanban-storage-plugin-author scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (templates/src/index.template.ts), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Kanban Storage Plugin Author

Use this skill to create a new installable npm package that kanban-lite can load as an external storage provider.

The goal is not just to explain the plugin system. The goal is to leave the user with a real package scaffold that:

  • builds successfully,
  • exports the correct plugin objects,
  • includes setup docs,
  • and can be selected from .kanban.json.

What this skill should produce

Create a package directory with, at minimum:

  • package.json
  • tsconfig.json
  • src/index.ts
  • README.md
  • optional tests if the user wants them or the implementation is concrete enough to verify

The package should normally export one or both of:

  • cardStoragePlugin
  • attachmentStoragePlugin

Every package must also export a pluginManifest constant. The engine uses this manifest for fast, reliable capability discovery:

export const pluginManifest = {
  id: 'kl-plugin-storage-example',
  capabilities: {
    'card.storage': ['example'] as const,
    'attachment.storage': ['example'] as const,
  },
} as const

The manifest declares the package id, the capability namespaces it provides, and the provider ids for each capability. Optionally add an integrations array when the package also contributes standalone.http, cli, mcp.tools, sdk.extension, or event.listener surfaces.

If the attachment provider supports efficient append-heavy workloads (for example card logs), it may also implement the optional hook:

  • appendAttachment(card, attachment, content)

First move

Before writing files:

  1. Check whether the current workspace is the kanban-lite core repo or a separate plugin repo.
  2. If the kanban-lite docs are present, read the plugin references before scaffolding:
    • https://github.com/borgius/kanban-lite/blob/main/README.md (Storage Providers / plugin sections)
  3. Prefer creating a new package directory rather than editing kanban-lite core files, unless the user explicitly asks for an in-repo package.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
