principle-evidence-over-assertion

principle-evidence-over-assertion is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from bostonaholic/team. It costs 29 tokens per session (209 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A reporting rule that supports every claim or completion status with evidence that was actually checked.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for test results, review findings, completion reports, and any workflow that must cite a command, file location, or freshly queried value.
Why use it?
It prevents confident but unverified statements from becoming the basis for later decisions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00209
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00105
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00042
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00021

Measured 5d ago against content hash 452710ccf7a9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

principle-evidence-over-assertion scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Evidence Over Assertion

Give every verdict cited evidence from a command run, file:line read, or authoritative value re-queried; degrade unverifiable verdicts explicitly.

  • Verify by re-querying, never by memory; zero exit proves acceptance, not resulting state, so re-read the authority.
  • Allow No PASS without cited evidence; report unverifiable items at degraded confidence.
  • Ground verdicts in named facts you observed; verify third-party claims at concrete file:line before adopting them.
  • Treat reviewer or model agreement as corroboration, never proof or a substitute for your check.
  • Verify a dependency claim by resolving it, never by reading a version range or a changelog; load the lowest version the range admits and call the API there, because that boundary is where a removed constant or a missing symbol actually breaks.
Files

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
