dotfiles: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/managing-pull-requests/SKILL.md

managing-pull-requests is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from br3ndonland/dotfiles. It costs 87 tokens per session (6,085 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A GitHub pull-request helper for writing and updating pull-request text, checking automated review results, and handling review discussions. A pull request is a proposed set of code changes that others review before it is merged.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps create or update titles and descriptions, prepare changes for review, check whether automated reviewers have approved them, and reply to or resolve review threads.
Why use it?
It reduces the manual work of preparing pull requests and responding to review feedback, including reviews from different automated coding tools.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions Codex.

This is br3ndonland/dotfiles's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on dotfiles itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything dotfiles configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00087 $0.06085
Opus 5.5 $0.00035 $0.02434
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.01217
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00609

Measured 6d ago against content hash 565d7f3e098d, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

managing-pull-requests scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Managing Pull Requests

Covers pull request titles, descriptions, squash merges, how to tell when automated reviewers have approved a pull request, and how to reply to and resolve review threads.

Pre-PR cross-model adversarial review

Before creating a pull request, complete an independent adversarial review with a model different from the primary coder's underlying model. Select the reviewer by model, not by harness or product name:

  • Identify the model used for the primary work and select a different model for the reviewer. For example, use Claude Sonnet to review work by a GPT model, or a GPT model to review work by Claude. Verify the underlying models differ, even when using different harnesses.
  • Determine the actual PR target/base branch from the intended target and repository guidance. Fetch that branch and review the proposed diff against origin/<base> (for example, git diff origin/<base>...HEAD), not an assumed main. Include any uncommitted changes intended for the PR.
  • Start an independent reviewer session using an available harness. Give it the repository, actual base, exact proposed changes, and read-only review scope. Ensure the reviewer can access the exact checkout and all intended changes. If it runs remotely, transfer unpushed changes or use a runner with access to the checkout. If the review is running in Amp, use Amp's independent reviewer threads, not a local shell script. Give the reviewer the repository, actual base, exact proposed changes, and read-only review scope. A separate orb cannot see local commits or edits: transfer unpushed changes with Amp's file-transfer tools, or use a runner that can access the exact checkout, before starting the review.
  • For Claude reviews, use Claude Sonnet. Do not substitute Opus unless the user explicitly requests it. In Amp, discover available modes and use an independent native API-backed reviewer thread with agent_mode: "anthropic/claude-sonnet", not external-agent:claude-code, which requires an active Claude subscription. Do not pass external-agent model: or effort: feature flags to native modes. Amp's current thread-creation interface exposes no separate native Sonnet effort setting, so use its default. For other harnesses, prefer medium effort when supported. Verify supported effort configuration before setting it rather than inventing a parameter.
  • For other reviewers, discover the available models and confirm the selected model differs from the primary coder's model. Preserve the same review scope and output expectations.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
