What is Plugin Settings?

A guide to making plugin behavior configurable through settings files, including project-specific files with YAML frontmatter. YAML frontmatter is a small block of structured settings at the start of a text file.

Use it to store plugin configuration, support user-configurable behavior, or read project-specific settings from .local.md files.

It explains where plugin settings and saved state belong, so behavior can be changed without editing the plugin code.
