What is kb-maintenance?

A knowledge-base maintenance step that polls RSS or Atom feeds for new entries and checks whether stored links still work. A knowledge base is a collection of organized reference information.

Use it for monthly refreshes of the kb/ folder, link checks, source updates, and reports of what changed.

It helps find new material, broken links, redirects, and sources that need review before the knowledge base becomes outdated.

Monthly Maintenance Cycle

Poll feeds - Read SOURCES.yaml update_feeds, fetch RSS/Atom/API endpoints, identify new entries since last_checked date
Check link health - Validate canonical_urls and latest_known.reference_url, report dead links and redirects
Generate delta report - What's new, what's broken, what needs manual review
Update sources - Fix broken URLs, update last_checked, add new sources if discovered
Update snapshot - Refresh CURRENT_STATE_SNAPSHOT.md with current state
