rook-release: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/design-grasshopper/SKILL.md

design-grasshopper is a skill for Claude Code from bringfire/rook-release. It costs 29 tokens per session (643 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A clarification tool for open-ended or unclear Grasshopper requests. Grasshopper is a visual programming environment commonly used for parametric design.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define options, limits, and conditions for deciding whether an ambiguous Grasshopper task is complete.
Why use it?
It helps identify missing requirements before work begins by clarifying alternatives, constraints, and acceptance criteria.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00643
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00257
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00129
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00064

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 6301db8b60ee, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

design-grasshopper scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Design a Grasshopper Definition

Purpose

Turn an ambiguous Grasshopper brief into a clear, reviewable design decision. This stage is Rhino, Grasshopper, and knowledge read-only. It may inspect current state and discuss alternatives, but it does not mutate either host or write to the knowledge store. When durability adds value, it may write only the authorized design artifact under docs/plans/.

Use this stage only when material design choices remain unresolved. A clear, bounded build request can proceed directly to execution. Planning is optional and adds value when work is large, destructive, cross-session, preservation-sensitive, or otherwise high risk.

Inspect Current State

Use gh_snapshot to understand the active document and canvas. Use Rhino read tools only when scene context is relevant. Do not infer document identity, component identity, topology, or parameter ports from prose alone.

Knowledge results are optional advisory context. They can suggest terminology, precedents, or risks, but live document and component metadata outrank stored knowledge.

Resolve technical identity with gh_library and gh_batch_component_info. In a lean catalog, reach hidden admitted tools through rook_tools_search, inspect their current schemas with rook_tools_read, and invoke them through rook_tools_call. If live evidence is missing or ambiguous, record the uncertainty instead of guessing.

For Wasp work, follow Wasp admission before treating a design as executable.

The explore checklist is a compact reminder of the evidence to collect.

Clarify the Brief

Ask one material question at a time. Focus on decisions that change the definition, such as:

  • intended outcome and acceptance criteria;
  • authoritative inputs and expected outputs;
  • controlling variables and useful ranges;
  • data-flow, data-tree, geometry, and solver constraints;
  • existing content that must be preserved; and
  • acceptable failure, review, and handoff boundaries.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

design-grasshopper is a skill published in the GitHub repository bringfire/rook-release (6 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 29 tokens to every session and 643 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
