rook-release: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/plan-grasshopper/SKILL.md

plan-grasshopper is a skill for Claude Code from bringfire/rook-release. It costs 29 tokens per session (719 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A planning aid for Grasshopper work, where Grasshopper is a visual programming tool commonly used with Rhino for design and engineering.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to document complex Grasshopper tasks, plan changes that may remove or alter work, and prepare material for review.
Why use it?
It keeps a durable technical record for large, destructive, multi-session, or review-sensitive work. This makes decisions and progress easier to track across sessions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00719
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00288
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00144
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00072

Security

Grade A, and why

plan-grasshopper scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Plan Grasshopper Work

Purpose

Convert an approved design, clear specification, or equivalent artifact into a durable technical plan. This stage is Rhino, Grasshopper, and knowledge read-only. It inspects current evidence and serializes future work; it may write only the authorized plan artifact under docs/plans/ and does not mutate either host or the knowledge store.

Planning is optional. Use it when size, destructive potential, cross-session handoff, existing-canvas preservation, or review risk justifies a durable artifact. Skipping the durable plan is valid when execution can perform the same bounded preflight in the current task.

Admit the Planning Inputs

Confirm that the source artifact resolves material design decisions and identifies the intended outcome. If semantics, topology, ownership, or preservation remain ambiguous, return those questions for approval rather than burying decisions in executable steps.

Inspect current tool schemas and live component metadata. Use gh_library for exact installed component identity and gh_batch_component_info for exact input and output ports. When a needed admitted tool is hidden, use rook_tools_search, rook_tools_read, and rook_tools_call. Treat knowledge as optional advisory context; live schemas and host metadata are authoritative.

For Wasp work, apply the compact admission contract in ../design-grasshopper/references/wasp-admission.md. A plan is not executable unless its required Wasp components and ports pass live admission.

Capture the Structural Baseline

For existing-canvas work, record a structural baseline containing:

  • target host and document identity;
  • relevant component identities and current parameter metadata;
  • relevant existing connections and groups;
  • the ownership boundary for new and pre-existing state; and
  • explicit preservation constraints.

The durable baseline does not store an epoch. Epochs are volatile execution-time concurrency tokens. If the structural baseline is absent or stale, the plan is advisory: execution must re-admit live state and obtain approval for semantic, topology, ownership, or preservation changes.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

plan-grasshopper is a skill published in the GitHub repository bringfire/rook-release (6 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 29 tokens to every session and 719 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
