paperclip-release-flow

paperclip-release-flow is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from bruhsb/paperclip-mcp. It costs 32 tokens per session (1,269 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Paperclip release-tracking procedure that prepares a structured changelog from completed issues, marks the related goal complete, and notifies stakeholders. It tracks the release record but does not create git tags or publish npm packages.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after a sprint or milestone is complete, or before a version release, to collect closed issues, prepare a changelog document, update the goal, and post notifications.
Why use it?
It gives a team a consistent release summary and checks that the work under a goal is finished before announcing it. This keeps Paperclip project records aligned with completed work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.01269
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00634
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00254
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00127

Security

Grade A, and why

paperclip-release-flow scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

paperclip-release-flow

Produces a structured CHANGELOG document from all issues closed under a goal, updates the goal status to reflect the release, and posts stakeholder notifications. This is a Paperclip-level release tracking workflow — it does not interact with git tags or npm. For the git/npm release, see the repo's CI release pipeline.

When to use

Run this skill when:

  • A sprint or milestone is complete and you need a structured record of what shipped.
  • You are preparing to cut a version and need a CHANGELOG document before notifying stakeholders.
  • The Scrum Master or PM asks for a release summary after all epics under a goal are done.

Do not run this skill on a goal that still has open issues. Confirm all epics and their children are done first (use paperclip-close-epic for any unclosed epics).

Step 1 — Fetch the goal

paperclip_get_goal  { goalId: "<goal-id>" }

Record title, description, status, and projectId. If status is already done, this skill may be running redundantly — verify with the operator before proceeding.

Step 2 — List all issues under the goal

paperclip_list_issues  { goalId: "<goal-id>" }

Collect all issues. Group them by type: feature, bug, chore, docs. Filter to status: "done" only — open issues should have blocked the release; log any found and flag them to the operator.

Step 3 — Compose the CHANGELOG

Build the CHANGELOG body using this structure:

# CHANGELOG — <goal title>

**Released:** <ISO date>
**Goal:** <goal description, 1–2 sentences>

## Features

- PAP-XX — <title>
- PAP-YY — <title>

## Bug Fixes

- PAP-ZZ — <title>

## Chores & Maintenance

- PAP-AA — <title>

## Documentation

- PAP-BB — <title>

## Known Limitations

<If any issues were explicitly deferred or descoped, list them here with a note. Otherwise omit this section.>

Omit any section that has no items. Do not fabricate entries.

Step 4 — Create the CHANGELOG document

paperclip_upsert_document  {
  title: "CHANGELOG: <goal title>",
  content: "<CHANGELOG markdown>",
  goalId: "<goal-id>"
}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
