gf-architecture-diagram

gf-architecture-diagram is a skill for Claude Code from byx-darwin/gitflow-cli. It costs 90 tokens per session (2,028 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A method for generating an architecture diagram from the dependencies listed in a project's package or build files. It extracts real dependency links, renders the diagram, and checks that the result matches those sources.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for regenerating and checking dependency-based diagrams, reviewing architecture before a release, and adding support for another programming language.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk that an architecture diagram becomes outdated or claims relationships that the project does not actually contain.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00090 $0.02028
Opus 5.5 $0.00036 $0.00811
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00406
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00203

Security

Grade A, and why

gf-architecture-diagram scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 24d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/review_svg.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

gf-architecture-diagram — Dependency-Derived Architecture Diagrams

Five-stage protocol: detect → extract → converge on format → render → verify. Language-agnostic protocol in this file; dependency extraction in references/<lang>.md. Extraction is structured parsing, never semantic inference — every node and edge must trace back to a manifest entry.

Preconditions

  • Read access to the target source tree
  • dot (Graphviz) installed for rendering
  • python3 (standard library only) for scripts/review_svg.py
  • The language layer's extraction tool installed (see references/<lang>.md)

When to Use

English 中文 Context
regenerate architecture diagram 重新生成架构图 manifest changed, diagram may have drifted
verify diagram matches dependencies 验证架构图与依赖一致 audit before a release
add a language layer 新增语言层 extend to go/node/python/java
architecture overview 架构总览图 onboarding, design review

When NOT to Use

Scenario Why Not Use Instead
Hand-drawing a conceptual diagram not tied to real dependencies This skill only renders what the manifest structurally contains A design doc's own diagram, drawn by hand
Detecting code smells or complexity Different problem class /gf-smell
Auditing licenses or vulnerabilities Different problem class /gf-security-check
Producing a raster image for a slide deck This skill's contract is SVG only Export SVG externally with your own tool

Stage 0: Detect Language

Detect the project language(s) by following gf-quality/references/detector.md. Read gf-quality/references/profiles/<lang>.md for shared tool and version facts; keep the extraction procedure in this skill's own language reference. Do not implement a second detection mechanism. Consume its output (language · path · workspace type) and load the matching references/<lang>.md. For multi-language projects, use the selection interaction that reference already defines; generate one diagram per selected language.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

gf-architecture-diagram is a skill published in the GitHub repository byx-darwin/gitflow-cli (3 stars, last pushed 22d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 90 tokens to every session and 2,028 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-19.
