stelow-workflow-interface-alternatives

stelow-workflow-interface-alternatives is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from calionauta/stelow. It costs 65 tokens per session (3,747 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A planning guide for exploring different ways to design a product interface. It adjusts the number of interface concepts it explores according to the project’s appetite, meaning the desired planning depth and effort.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to brainstorm interface alternatives, explore interface archetypes, and recommend a hybrid design for a product.
Why use it?
It helps avoid settling on the first interface idea and gives the exploration a scope suited to the project. It can work within a workflow or independently from a supplied interface brief.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions subagents; positional $N argument.

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is **Tools:** See `../stelow-workflow-orchestrator/references/cli-tools/subagents.md` for subagent patterns, and `../stelow-workflow-orchestrator/references/cli-to.

Good fit Use it to brainstorm interface alternatives, explore interface archetypes, and recommend a hybrid design for a product.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00065 $0.03747
Opus 5.5 $0.00026 $0.01499
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00749
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00375

Security

Grade A, and why

stelow-workflow-interface-alternatives scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 14d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Interface Alternatives

Tools: See ../stelow-workflow-orchestrator/references/cli-tools/subagents.md for subagent patterns, and ../stelow-workflow-orchestrator/references/cli-tools/ui-design-research.md for real reference exemplars before proposing layouts.

Overview

This skill executes breadth-scaled interface proposal generation (1 to 5 proposals plus a hybrid) for the Explore track and standalone use.

Scope: the Build-track interface stage runs reaction-first Interface Contrast instead (stelow-workflow-interface-contrast: bounded alternatives with scope coverage and a named disposition). This skill never owns Build-track card state — its proposals are picked via ask-patterns.md Pattern 2A (Explore) while Build-track picks follow Pattern 2 from the contrast receipt.

How to Load

Via Orchestrator (recommended)

The orchestrator reads this file directly when needed.

Standalone

This skill works standalone. Use the Input Detection section below to tell the skill what interface you want to brainstorm. Follow the instructions inline.

Standalone awareness: when inside stelow, reads exploration breadth from the workflow config (exploration_count, exploration_hybrid). When standalone, defaults to 3 interfaces + hybrid. If the spec-product.md is not in the expected path, pass it explicitly or let the LLM scan for spec-product*.md in the current directory.

Process

Step 0: Read exploration breadth and choose interface exploration depth.

Exploration breadth controls how many interface alternatives are explored. Quality is not cut; the number of explored alternatives is.

Count Interface exploration
1 1 suggested interface only. No alternative exploration. Trivial changes by explicit choice only.
2 2 archetypes explored + 1 hybrid recommendation.
3 3 archetypes explored + 1 hybrid recommendation.
4 4 archetypes explored + 1 hybrid recommendation.
5 5 archetypes explored + 1 hybrid recommendation.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
