Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00104 | $0.01815 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00052 | $0.00907 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00021 | $0.00363 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00181 |
Grade A, and why
quiz-builder scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 88 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
quiz-builder — GLOBAL quiz-building methodology
Build or update a Canvas Classic quiz: its question items + the description summary.
Idempotent — create a quiz's questions from nothing OR modify an existing quiz (questions matched by
question_name). Pairs with the machinery quiz_builder.py (same dir) the way assignment-page-builder
pairs with assignment_page_builder.py.
⛔ HARD RULE — the machinery is the ONLY path (gate, don't hand-roll)
- ALL Canvas quiz API calls go through
skills/quiz-builder/quiz_builder.py(co-located). NEVER write ad-hoccanvas_rest.get/post/putto/quizzes/...in a session — that is the recurring hand-roll bug (grade_nb_skill / Stage-B finalize). If a needed call is missing, ADD it toquiz_builder.py, never improvise. The entry isquiz_builder.make_quiz(base, token, course_id, quiz_id, questions, ...). - NEVER publishes. No
publishedset — the instructor publishes. - Full payload always (
question_type/points_possible/question_text/answers) — a missing field silently fails.make_quizrefreshes the STALEquestion_count/points_possiblecache after changes, and reorders (the question endpoint ignoresposition). All per Access/Canvas.md.
Two parts
- Question items — built by TYPE (dispatch below), then
upsert_questions(create-or-update by name). - Description summary —
build_description_summaryrenders a student-facing table: Questions · Total points · Time limit · Attempts · Due (computed from the questions, since the quiz's own fields are stale until refresh). Add a short intro viaintro_html.
Question dispatch — by type
| Question type | How | Builder |
|---|---|---|
| MCQ / True-False / essay / fill-in (native) | quiz_builder.q_multiple_choice / q_true_false / q_essay → full payload |
this skill's quiz_builder.py |
| git-program (a coding question) | defer to the course-local git-homework (repo + autograder + assignment page); the quiz question is an essay (q_essay) whose text links to the coding assignment / Request repo. NO new git-program skill. |
local git-homework + assignment-page-builder for the page |
| bulk MCQ (e.g. all-50) | run the MCQ helper N times from the source bank — one plugin, not a new skill | quiz_builder.py |
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

quiz-builder is a skill published in the GitHub repository Canvas-LMS-MCP/canvas-teacher-mcp (1 stars, last pushed 27d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 104 tokens to every session and 1,815 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.

Take any book (EPUB/PDF), produce a personalized chapter-by-chapter analysis.
