Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00096 | $0.01286 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00038 | $0.00514 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00019 | $0.00257 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00129 |
Grade A, and why
motion-element scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 108 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
One element: the {{motion}} modifier
{{motion}} goes on the element you already have — any HTML or SVG element,
no wrapper. Named args are Motion's props, same names and types.

- Helpers
to,spring, tween, inertia, stagger, ease, stylesare plain functions used as template helpers — they exist so Glint typechecks the target.(hash …)also works. - A target used more than once belongs in a module constant, not inline —
the gallery is written that way throughout:
const soft = spring({ bounce: 0.14, visualDuration: 0.48 }); animateis a target, not an event: it re-runs whenever its value changes. Drive it from a getter.- Transforms are values: animate
x,y,scale, rotate— never compose atransformstring yourself; the engine ownstransform. - Keyframes: pass arrays (
animate=(to x=(array 0 40 0))or a constant). - Variants,
custom,staggerChildren/delayChildren,when:all work as in Motion;inheritcontrols propagation. - Gestures:
whileHover,whileTap,whileFocus,whileInViewplus their handlers. Keyboard activates tap. <MotionConfig @transition @reducedMotion …>sets tree-wide defaults.@reducedMotiondefaults to"user"here (not React's"never"):prefers-reduced-motionis honoured by default — transform/layout animation off, opacity/colour still animate. Don't "fix" that.
Motion values: per-frame data without re-render
Anything updating at pointer/frame rate (a follower, a scrub readout, a
progress fill) must NOT go through tracked state — that is a render per
frame. Make a motionValue, bind it once with style=(styles …), and
drive it: .set(v) writes a value, animate(this.x, v, transition) animates
to one (a spring chasing the pointer), .jump(v) teleports and stops what
was driving it (the scrub case):
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

motion-element is a skill published in the GitHub repository cardstack/boxel (27 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 96 tokens to every session and 1,286 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-21.
