Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00081 | $0.00735 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00032 | $0.00294 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00016 | $0.00147 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00008 | $0.00073 |
Grade A, and why
motion-scroll scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 73 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Scroll-driven motion
Two questions, two tools:
"Where is the scroll?" — scrollProgress() returns motion values for
position/progress (scrollX, scrollY, scrollXProgress,
scrollYProgress) plus three modifiers that say what to track; bind the
values with style=(styles …) (motion-element):
import { scrollProgress } from 'glimmer-motion';
class Story extends Component {
// options are the offsets etc.; container and target are modifiers
scroll = scrollProgress({ offset: ['start end', 'end start'] });
<template>
<div class='well' {{this.scroll.container}}>
<section {{this.scroll.target}}>…</section>
</div>
</template>
}
{{s.container}} names the scrolling element (default: the document),
{{s.target}} the element whose position within it is tracked, and
{{s.track}} tracks the document scroll with neither — put it on anything
that lives as long as the values. Feed a motion value through a transform
for parallax (parallax.gts), or into a scaleX for a progress bar. The
lower-level scroll(), scrollInfo() and inView() (re-exported from
framer-motion/dom) are there too, and use the native ScrollTimeline where
the browser has one.
"Is it on screen?" — InView, for a tracked isInView your template
can branch on (v = new InView({ once: true }), <div {{this.v.observe}}>,
read this.v.isInView), or the whileInView prop with viewport options
(root, margin, amount, once):
<section {{motion initial=(to opacity=0 y=24) whileInView=(to opacity=1 y=0)
viewport=(hash once=true amount=0.4)}} />
useScroll / useInView still exist as deprecated aliases — don't write
new code against them.
Judgment calls
- Reveal-on-scroll wants
once=truealmost always; repeating reveals read as noise on the way back up. - A hide-on-scroll header is direction, not position: track the delta sign
(see
hide-header.gts), animatey, and keep the show-threshold smaller than the hide-threshold so it doesn't flicker at rest. - Parallax layers should stay subtle (single-digit % offsets) and must not create their own scroll height — transform, never top/margin.
- Scroll-linked values bypass
transitionentirely — the scrubbing IS the timing. Don't wrap them in springs unless you want lag on purpose (sometimes you do: smoothed parallax).
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

motion-scroll is a skill published in the GitHub repository cardstack/boxel (27 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 81 tokens to every session and 735 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-21.
