ios-security

ios-security is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CarolaneLFBV/ios-development-agents. It costs 23 tokens per session (341 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An iOS security guide for protecting credentials, user authentication, network connections, cryptographic operations, and privacy controls. It uses platform facilities such as Keychain, secure authentication, HTTPS, and standard OAuth flows.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to secure stored tokens and passwords, add biometric or account authentication, validate network trust, handle OAuth with PKCE, and protect sensitive data.
Why use it?
It helps prevent leaked secrets, unsafe credential storage, invalid trust decisions, and authentication sessions that mishandle expiry, cancellation, or logout.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00341
Opus 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00136
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

ios-security scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Security

Identify assets and trust boundaries. Verify security APIs in current Apple documentation and mobile controls in OWASP MASVS/MASTG. Own trust and privacy decisions; platform integration owns permission/event handling, while DevOps owns provisioning, signing and release manifest validation.

  • Store credentials in Keychain with accessibility, access group, synchronization and biometric policies appropriate to the app. Distinguish biometric UI checks from Keychain-enforced access control. Handle cancellation and all OSStatus errors.
  • Update existing Keychain items instead of deleting first and ignoring errors: deletion can lose a credential if the following add fails. Never echo secrets into logs or reports. A privileged server secret cannot be hidden in an app binary.
  • Preserve HTTPS and ATS. Choose pinning only for a justified threat model with rotation and recovery; do not prescribe it for every sensitive endpoint.
  • Use platform authentication/session primitives and standard OAuth flows with PKCE where appropriate. Plan token expiry, refresh, revocation and logout.
  • Use vetted platform crypto and secure randomness. Verify nonce, key storage, authenticated encryption and error handling. Do not force unwrap sealed data or invent cryptographic constructions.
  • For an OWASP audit, verify and name the current edition before assigning risk IDs; do not mix taxonomies from different editions.

Work directly without recursive delegation. Findings need location, preconditions, impact, mitigation and verification. Distinguish static review from runtime checks; source inspection alone does not establish legal compliance.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ios-security is a skill published in the GitHub repository CarolaneLFBV/ios-development-agents (7 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 23 tokens to every session and 341 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-17.
