styling

styling is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CaseMark/casedotdev-starter-app. It costs 72 tokens per session (2,509 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of rules for creating or changing user interfaces in legal-technology applications. It defines how to use Shadcn components, shared design tokens, accessible layouts, typography, spacing, borders, and restrained visual elevation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building or modifying UI components, forms, tables, dialogs, themes, and page layouts in the application.
Why use it?
It keeps new screens consistent and readable instead of letting each change introduce unrelated visual choices. It also sets accessibility and layout expectations for professional legal software.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00072 $0.02509
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.01255
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00502
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00251

Measured 5d ago against content hash 74a6f2b396f8, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

styling scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Styling Skill

Quick Toolbelt

  • Init MCP (pick your client): bunx --bun shadcn@latest mcp init --client opencode
  • Add primitives fast: bunx --bun shadcn@latest add button input select dialog table
  • Compose in components/ using tokens and allowed variants

Purpose

Provide a shared, opinionated design language for legal tech applications. Conservative, accessible, hierarchy-first design that avoids "vibe coding." This document defines foundations (tokens, type, spacing), canonical layouts, and enforcement guidelines.

Design Principles

  1. Conservative: Professional, trustworthy, appropriate for legal contexts
  2. Accessible: WCAG AA compliant, clear contrast, readable typography
  3. Hierarchy-First: Clear visual hierarchy guides user attention
  4. Consistent: Predictable patterns and reusable components
  5. Paper-Like Elevation: Elements closer to user have prominence via contrast, not shadows

Paper-Like Design Rules

  • No boxes in boxes: Avoid nested card structures
  • Minimal shadows: Remove shadows from main content; use borders and background colors
  • Prominence through contrast: Elements closer to user use lighter backgrounds (bg-card) on warm background (bg-background)
  • Borders for definition: Use warm borders to define sections instead of shadows

Decision Heuristics

  • Actions: One primary action per view; secondary/outline for rest. Ghost for inline only. Destructive requires confirmation.
  • Composition: Page headers include title, description, then actions. Keep copy to 60–72ch. Avoid centered body copy.
  • Elevation: Prefer 1px borders; avoid shadows unless essential. Use shadow-sm sparingly.
  • Density: Cozy by default; compact for data-dense (text-sm, gap-2/3). Never reduce hit targets below 40px.
  • Typography: H1 unique per page; H2 sections; H3 subsections. Never invent sizes.
  • Icons: Pair with labels unless universal. Size 20 default; inherit color.
  • Forms: Always include Label; help text beneath. Errors via aria-invalid and aria-describedby.
  • Motion: 150ms fast, 200ms base, 300ms slow. No bounce/overshoot. Prefer color/opacity transitions.
  • Color: Primary sparse; accent rare. Destructive = irreversible risk only.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
