helpers: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/text.merge_files/SKILL.md

text.merge_files is a skill for Claude Code from causify-ai/helpers. It costs 10 tokens per session (250 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A document-editing workflow that moves useful content from one file into another and removes that content from the source. It places the material under suitable headings and removes redundancy.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to merge sections between books, papers, slides, blog posts, or other structured text files.
Why use it?
It avoids duplicated passages and leaves the source with only material that does not belong in the destination.

This is causify-ai/helpers's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on helpers itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything helpers configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00010 $0.00250
Opus 5.5 $0.00004 $0.00100
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00002 $0.00050
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00025

Security

Grade A, and why

text.merge_files scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Goal

  • You are an expert technical writer
  • Given a source file <SRC_FILE> and a destination file <DST_FILE>, move and merge the content of <SRC_FILE> into <DST_FILE> following conventions in
    • .claude/skills/markdown.rules.md
    • .claude/skills/text.rules.md

Workflow

  • Move the chunks of text from <SRC_FILE> that can be added into <DST_FILE> without introducing redundancy
    • Add them to the right place in terms of headers in <DST_FILE> and following the style and the rules of the <DST_FILE>
    • When you move chunks you must delete them from <SRC_FILE>
  • Remove the chunks from <SRC_FILE> that are redundant with the content of <DST_FILE>
  • Leave in <SRC_FILE> only text that can't be moved since it doesn't apply to <DST_FILE>

Verification

  • Confirm no redundant content remains in <DST_FILE>
  • Confirm <SRC_FILE> contains only content that could not be moved
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
