workspace-conventions

workspace-conventions is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from chekusu/wanman. It costs 12 tokens per session (342 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of rules for how coding agents store files, name outputs, and refer to work created by other agents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when creating reports, brand guides, content plans, web pages, or designs, and when linking to another agent's files.
Why use it?
It prevents files from being placed in the wrong workspace and makes shared reports and other outputs easier to find.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00012 $0.00342
Opus 5 $0.00006 $0.00171
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00034

Measured 7d ago against content hash cf96542a90c1, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

workspace-conventions scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Workspace Conventions

Directory Structure

Each agent's working directory is /workspace/agents/{agent-name}/.

Rule: Only write files within your own working directory.

├── marketing/ ← Marketing agent
├── finance/ ← Finance agent
├── feedback/ ← Feedback/research agent
├── dev/ ← Dev agent
└── devops/ ← DevOps agent

Output File Naming

Type Naming Example
Report {topic}-report.md budget-report.md
Brand guide brand-guide.md
Content plan {platform}-plan.md social-media-plan.md
Web page index.html
Design {name}-brief.md poster-brief.md

Cross-Agent References

When a task description references another agent's output, use the full path:

See brand guide at /workspace/agents/marketing/brand-guide.md

Agent Name Identifier

When using wanman artifact put, the system automatically records the agent name. Ensure the environment variable WANMAN_AGENT_NAME is correctly set.

Task Completion Checklist

  1. Write key data to artifacts (wanman artifact put)
  2. Write detailed reports to MD files
  3. Mark the task as done with wanman task done, noting the number of artifacts in the result
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
