vibe-migrate

vibe-migrate is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from chentao326/vibe-code. It costs 54 tokens per session (255 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A schema migration tool for updating the version and structure of a .vibe-state.json file, a file that stores Vibe-related state. It follows the required version steps and checks that the updated file is valid.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after updating Vibe Code when its changelog requires a state schema update. It finds the needed migration steps, applies them in order, and verifies the result.
Why use it?
It prevents an updated Vibe Code installation from using an outdated or partly updated state file. If a migration fails, it reports the problem and keeps the current version.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00054 $0.00255
Opus 5 $0.00027 $0.00128
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00051
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00026

Measured 4d ago against content hash 111909e397cd, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

vibe-migrate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

vibe-migrate — Schema 迁移

Workflow

Phase 1: 检测版本

对比 .vibe-state.json schema_version vs migrations/registry.md LATEST_SCHEMA。

Phase 2: 确定路径

从版本链找到需要跑的迁移文件。

Phase 3: 按序执行

每步读迁移文件的 HOW 段 → 执行 → 更新 schema_version。幂等,不跳版。

Phase 4: 验证

schema_version == LATEST_SCHEMA + state 可解析 + 必填字段齐全。

失败处理

  • 迁移文件缺失 → 报错提示版本链断裂
  • 某步失败 → 停在当前版本,不回滚
  • state 损坏 → 备份 + 重 init
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
