network-platform-resources

network-platform-resources is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from chf3198/copilot-governance. It costs 42 tokens per session (878 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A reference guide to remote computers and other network-accessible computing platforms, including how to connect and what each machine can run.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to choose where to run a task, offload heavy computation, or plan deployment across several computers.
Why use it?
It removes the need to rediscover available machines, connection details, and hardware limits before running work remotely.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00042 $0.00878
Opus 5 $0.00021 $0.00439
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00176
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00088

Measured 5d ago against content hash 39bf87c1f146, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade B, and why

network-platform-resources scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

Network Platform Resources

Purpose

Provide every AI agent session with an always-current inventory of reachable compute platforms, how to connect, what's installed, and when to offload work.

Fleet Discovery

Fleet topology is auto-detected at runtime via fleet-config.js + resolve-inventory.js:

  • IPs resolved from .env FLEET_IP_*, ~/.megingjord/devices.json overlay, or example baseline
  • Device metadata merged: inventory/*.example.json → operator overlay → env
  • Run node scripts/global/fleet-config.js profile for current state

Platform Inventory

Devices come from the merged inventory (not tracked inventory/devices.json). Key roles:

Primary Dev Machine (local)

  • Role: IDE host, agent execution, dashboard
  • Constraints: Low memory — check mem-watchdog before heavy ops
  • Crostini is NAT'd — cross-machine networking uses Tailscale

SML Node (remote inference tier)

  • Role: Lightweight local inference (routing, classification)
  • Ollama with small models (≤1B params)
  • Constraints: ~2-3 GB RAM, tiny models only

Inference Host (remote compute)

  • Role: Heavy compute, daemon hosting (OpenClaw Gateway)
  • 16 GB RAM, runs 7B models via Ollama + LiteLLM
  • Constraints: Check fleet-config profile before assuming reachable

Connection Method

All cross-machine networking uses Tailscale VPN mesh:

  • WireGuard encrypted, bypasses NAT/firewall
  • SSH via ProxyCommand: sudo tailscale nc %h %p
  • Auth: Ed25519 key pair (passwordless)
  • SSH config references device alias from merged fleet inventory (fleet-config.js)

Quick Connect

ssh <device-id>
ssh <device-id> "<remote-command>"
scp -o ProxyCommand="sudo tailscale nc %h %p" file.txt $FLEET_SSH_USER@<ip>:<path>

Prerequisites

  1. Tailscale daemon running (start with --tun=userspace-networking on Crostini)
  2. Tailscale on remote: system service (auto-start)
  3. OpenSSH on remote: sshd service (auto-start)

Troubleshooting

Symptom Fix
SSH timeout Start tailscaled with --tun=userspace-networking
Tailscale logged out sudo tailscale up → open URL in browser
SSH asks for password Re-copy pubkey to remote authorized_keys
Ping works, SSH doesn't Add firewall rule for port 22

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

network-platform-resources is a skill published in the GitHub repository chf3198/copilot-governance (1 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 42 tokens to every session and 878 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
