replay

replay is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from christopherkarani/ryk. It costs 0 tokens per session (280 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A viewer for the latest ryk session's local audit log—the record of commands, file actions, network requests, and policy decisions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Review the last session, verify its audit trail, or output the replay as JSON for other tools.
Why use it?
It helps you see what happened during a protected session, including blocked actions, removed secrets, and whether the log's hash chain is intact.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.00280
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00140
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00028

Measured 5d ago against content hash 6be2ae22ed50, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

replay scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

replay

Show and explain the latest ryk session replay.

When to use

Use this skill after running an ryk-protected session to review what happened, verify the audit log, and check for any policy violations or redactions.

Commands

Replay the most recent session:

ryk replay --session last

Replay with hash-chain verification:

ryk replay --session last --verify

For machine-readable output:

ryk replay --session last --json

No session found

If no session exists, you will see an error like:

No sessions found in .ryk/sessions/

To create a session, run a command through ryk first:

ryk run -- echo hello

Then retry the replay command.

What replay shows

  • Session events (commands, file operations, network requests)
  • Policy decisions (allow, block, ask, warn)
  • Redacted fields (secrets removed before logging)
  • Hash-chain verification status (tamper-evident audit)

Notes

  • This skill does not modify host configuration.
  • The plugin does not collect telemetry. Machine-readable replay calls are excluded from release CLI telemetry; see docs/telemetry.md.
  • Replay reads local audit logs only; no external service is contacted.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

replay is a skill published in the GitHub repository christopherkarani/ryk (39 stars, last pushed 15d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 280 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
