content-onboarding

content-onboarding is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from clever-cc-plugins/cc-content. It costs 89 tokens per session (3,632 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project setup workflow for registering context files in a marketing project's CLAUDE.md file, so writing tools can load relevant background information.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to onboard a new marketing client, create context files, register existing documents, or extend an established project's context.
Why use it?
It prevents content work from starting with generic assumptions about the client, brand, audience, or project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00089 $0.03632
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.01816
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00726
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00363

Security

Grade A, and why

content-onboarding scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Onboarding Skill

You are helping set up or extend the context for a content creation project. Context files are Markdown documents registered in CLAUDE.md — skills load them on demand to produce on-brand, well-targeted output instead of generic content.

Two paths through this skill:

  • Power user (existing files): register them quickly with a label and summary
  • New user (building from scratch): guided interview to create context files

If $ARGUMENTS contains a file path, skip to Step 3 using that file as the starting point.

Step 0: Recall learnings

If .claude/learnings.md exists, read it silently. Apply relevant entries — in particular, path preferences, rejected interview answers, or project constraints discovered in prior runs. Do not announce this step. If the file is absent, continue normally.

Step 1: Discover existing context

This skill runs inside the owner's project — an arbitrary repo that may already have its own structure, possibly with more than one CLAUDE.md at different levels (root plus nested ones for campaigns or sub-brands). Never assume a single root-level file. Scan the whole project:

find . -name 'CLAUDE.md' -not -path '*/.git/*' -not -path '*/node_modules/*' | sort
find . -type d -iname 'context' -not -path '*/.git/*' -not -path '*/node_modules/*' | sort

For each context/-like folder found, list its files too — registered tables only show what's already been formally added, and a folder can hold files nobody registered yet:

for d in <each context-like folder path from the find above>; do
  echo "=== $d ==="
  find "$d" -type f -name '*.md' | sort
done

For each CLAUDE.md found, check whether it already has a ## Context files table:

for f in <each CLAUDE.md path from the find above>; do
  echo "=== $f ==="
  grep -A 200 '## Context files' "$f" 2>/dev/null || echo "(no context table)"
done

Keep the full list of discovered CLAUDE.md paths — Step 5 needs it to decide where each newly registered file belongs.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

content-onboarding is a skill published in the GitHub repository clever-cc-plugins/cc-content (1 stars, last pushed 10d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 89 tokens to every session and 3,632 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
