build-with-opengeni

build-with-opengeni is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Cloudgeni-ai/opengeni. It costs 126 tokens per session (570 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A development workflow for adding OpenGeni agent sessions to a product, website, command-line tool, or automation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add server-side agent sessions, per-user separation, an embedded chat interface, or a small React and Node demo.
Why use it?
It keeps the product's users and interface separate from the agent service and keeps the organization API key on the server rather than in the browser.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00126 $0.00570
Opus 5.5 $0.00050 $0.00228
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00025 $0.00114
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00057

Security

Grade A, and why

build-with-opengeni scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Build with Opengeni

The user's product keeps its own users and UI. Opengeni (Opengeni Cloud at https://app.opengeni.ai, or self-hosted) runs the agent sessions and tools. The browser talks only to the product's server, which holds the organization API key.

Follow the complete guide beside this file: opengeni-client/SKILL.md. Without it, read https://docs.opengeni.ai/llms.txt and https://github.com/Cloudgeni-ai/opengeni/tree/main/.agents/skills/opengeni-client.

Opengeni MCP tools

When the opengeni MCP tools are available (this plugin connects them), use them to inspect and act on the user's Opengeni organization while you build: find an action with opengeni_actions_search, read it with opengeni_action_describe, and run it with opengeni_action_call. The first use opens a browser sign-in where the user chooses what the agent may access. The product's own code still uses its server-side API key.

Quick local demo app

If the user asks for a small, local, or demo web app with an Opengeni chat (rather than adding Opengeni to an existing product), follow local-demo-app.md exactly. It is a tested recipe: a Vite and React page with OpenGeniChat and one Node server holding the API key.

Credentials

  • The user creates an organization API key in Opengeni under Organization settings > Developer and stores it in the product's server-only env as OPENGENI_API_KEY. Never ask them to paste it into chat, and never commit, log, or ship it to a browser or mobile app.
  • Self-hosted deployments also set OPENGENI_API_BASE_URL.
  • Do not deploy, publish, or change production without the user's permission.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
