auditing-cloud-cluster-security

A read-only review of a CockroachDB cluster's security posture across network access, sign-in, permissions, encryption, audit logging, and backups. It supports both CockroachDB Cloud and self-hosted clusters.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare for SOC 2 or HIPAA reviews, assess a new production cluster, investigate security gaps, or review security before a major release or customer onboarding.
Why use it?
It brings common security checks into one report and highlights gaps that may matter during compliance reviews, incident follow-up, or production onboarding.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00059 $0.06252
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.03126
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.01250
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00625

Security

Grade A, and why

auditing-cloud-cluster-security scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Auditing Cloud Cluster Security

Assesses the security posture of a CockroachDB Cloud cluster by examining network access controls, authentication and SSO configuration, user authorization, encryption, audit logging, and backup status. Produces a structured PASS/WARN/FAIL report with remediation links for each finding. Supports both CockroachDB Cloud and self-hosted clusters — checks that don't apply to the deployment model are marked N/A.

Read-only audit: All operations are read-only. No cluster state is modified during the assessment.

When to Use This Skill

  • Preparing for SOC 2, HIPAA, or other compliance reviews
  • Conducting periodic security posture assessments
  • Onboarding a new production cluster and validating security baseline
  • Investigating security configuration gaps after an incident
  • Reviewing cluster security before a major release or customer onboarding

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

auditing-cloud-cluster-security is a skill published in the GitHub repository cockroachdb/cursor-plugin (1 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 59 tokens to every session and 6,252 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). It is 100% identical to auditing-cloud-cluster-security, differing in 0 lines, and is treated as a copy.
