install-agentic-stack

install-agentic-stack is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from codejunkie99/agentic-stack. It costs 33 tokens per session (361 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An installer and verifier for agentic-stack, a portable set of tools that gives coding agents a shared project brain. It detects the host, installs or updates the stack, runs its checks, and can register a memory service for other hosts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to install or update agentic-stack in a project, check the installation, inspect its dashboard, and optionally connect its memory service.
Why use it?
It removes the need to work out host-specific installation steps and confirms whether the installation is healthy. A shared memory service can let supported hosts use the same project knowledge.

About the project

agentic-stack is a portable layer of agent memory, skills, and protocols stored in a .agent/ folder that can be used across multiple coding-agent tools. It is for people who switch between agent harnesses while keeping shared knowledge and monitoring data. The catalogue entries provide skills and rules for this shared agent layer.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.00361
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00144
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00072
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00036

Measured 3d ago against content hash 0498147ded22, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

install-agentic-stack scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Install agentic-stack (agent-executed)

You are an AI coding agent. Follow these steps in order; stop and report on the first failure.

  1. Detect the harness you are running in (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, OpenCode, OpenClaw, Codex, Copilot CLI, Gemini, Hermes, Pi, Antigravity, or standalone Python).
  2. Install the CLI (macOS/Linux):
    brew tap codejunkie99/agentic-stack && brew install agentic-stack

    Windows PowerShell: git clone https://github.com/codejunkie99/agentic-stack && .\agentic-stack\install.ps1 <harness>.
  3. From the project root, run agentic-stack <harness> (for example agentic-stack claude-code). Accept the onboarding defaults unless the user told you otherwise.
  4. Verify: agentic-stack doctor . must report no errors, and python3 .agent/tools/show.py --plain must print the brain dashboard.
  5. Optional: register the memory MCP server so other hosts share the brain: claude mcp add agentic-memory -- python3 "$PWD/.agent/tools/memory_mcp.py".
  6. Report the installed version, the adapter wired, and the exact commands you ran. Do not modify .agent/protocols/permissions.md.

Already installed? Run agentic-stack upgrade . to refresh infrastructure without touching memory or skills.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
