compress_image

An image-compression function that creates a smaller image file by lowering its quality setting. The quality value ranges from 0 to 95: higher values preserve more detail but usually produce larger files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compress photos or other image files by providing an input path, an output path, and a quality value.
Why use it?
It reduces image file size when storage or transfer size matters. You can choose the balance between visual quality and output size.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00040 $0.00325
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00162
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00065
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

compress_image scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (__init__.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

compress_image Skill

压缩图像文件,以减小其文件大小,同时尽量保持视觉质量

功能描述

将图像文件压缩为更小的体积,通过调整压缩质量参数控制输出文件大小。

所属分类

调用方式

from skills.image import compress_image

compress_image(
    input_file='./test.png',
    output_file='./test_compressed.jpg',
    quality=50
)

None

使用示例

from skills.image import compress_image
compress_image(input_file='./photo.jpg', output_file='./photo_small.jpg', quality=30)

原始函数

Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

compress_image is a skill published in the GitHub repository CoderWanFeng/python-office (1,348 stars, last pushed 13d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 40 tokens to every session and 325 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
