excel_column_stats

excel_column_stats is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CoderWanFeng/python-office. It costs 51 tokens per session (577 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An Excel worksheet profiling tool that reports missing values, data types, distinct-value counts, and numeric distributions for each column. A data profile is a quick summary used to inspect a dataset before processing it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check the quality of an Excel sheet and review counts, types, ranges, averages, medians, or common text values.
Why use it?
It reveals incomplete columns, mixed values, and unusual numeric ranges before those issues cause problems in later analysis or imports.

About the project

python-office is a Python library that provides ready-to-use modules for automating office and media tasks such as PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, WeChat, images, video, and OCR. It is for people who want to automate common work activities with short Python calls, including users with little Python experience. Its catalogue skills expose the library's individual automation areas to coding agents.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00051 $0.00577
Opus 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00231
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00115
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00058

Measured 5d ago against content hash ba3248a0a81c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

excel_column_stats scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (__init__.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

excel_column_stats Skill

skills/excel/excel_column_stats/

调用方式

from skills.excel import excel_column_stats

excel_column_stats(excel_path='销售明细.xlsx', top_n=3)

dict,包含 sheet、row_count、column_count、fill_rate、columns。 columns 是列表,每项含 name、index、filled、empty、empty_ratio、 unique、type,并按类型附带 numeric、date_range 或 top。

使用示例

from skills.excel import excel_column_stats

stats = excel_column_stats('销售明细.xlsx')
print('整体填充率:{:.1%}'.format(stats['fill_rate']))
for column in stats['columns']:
    print('{}({}):空值 {} 个'.format(column['name'], column['type'], column['empty']))
    if column['type'] == 'number':
        print('  均值 {mean},中位数 {median}'.format(**column['numeric']))

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
