Getting it into your agent
This one installs as part of its plugin. Adding the marketplace and installing the plugin brings it with everything else the plugin ships.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00218 | $0.08693 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00109 | $0.04346 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00044 | $0.01739 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00022 | $0.00869 |
Grade A, and why
portfolio-communicate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 465 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Portfolio Communicate
The single output skill for the portfolio pipeline. Transforms portfolio entities into anything an audience needs — documentation, pitch narratives, proposals, marketing briefs, or data workbooks. It routes through a use-case registry that matches the audience and purpose to the right voice, templates, and review perspectives.
Core Concept
Plugin root resolution. Bash invocations below resolve the plugin root inline as ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT:-$(ls -td "$HOME"/.claude/plugins/cache/insight-wave/cogni-portfolio/*/ | head -1)} — the first call works whether or not the harness injects $CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT. Keep the inline form in every call; do not strip it.
Internal portfolio data (slugs, TAM/SAM/SOM, relevance tiers, quality scores) is never what an audience sees. What they need depends on who they are and how they'll consume it:
| Use Case | Audience | Output | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
customer-narrative |
Buyers navigating a portfolio-driven website | Home / About / Capability / Persona / Approach pages, each arc-structured | Markdown with arc_id (per-scope) |
repo-documentation |
Developers, OSS community | Technical clarity: what, how, getting started | Markdown |
pitch |
Executives, conference, board | Arc-structured presentation narrative (follows a text-to-narrative arc contract) |
Markdown with arc_id |
proposal |
Sales teams, prospects | Per-proposition sales proposal | Markdown |
market-brief |
Marketing teams | Market content package with sizing, buyer profile, messaging | Markdown |
workbook |
Leadership, analysts | Structured spreadsheet with all portfolio data | XLSX |
| Custom/ad-hoc | Any audience | User-defined voice, sections, review | Markdown |
Each use case defines its own voice, output templates, and review criteria. Both the pitch and customer-narrative use cases emit output with arc_id in frontmatter, so text-to-narrative builds a Claude Design brief (slides, document, infographic or web) from them under that arc — a pitch, which also carries word_count, is taken as a finished narrative and skips straight to the brief; a customer-narrative page is passed with its arc_id as --arc-id. customer-narrative is unique in that its arc varies per scope — see the mapping table in Step 1b.
What ships with it
6 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

portfolio-communicate is a skill published in the GitHub repository cogni-work/insight-wave (13 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 218 tokens to every session and 8,693 once invoked, about $0.0011 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-04.
