Supported workflow

Transfer an LLM + connection between projects

Use this when the target project is missing an LLM but another project already has a working one.

  1. manage_packages { operation: "list_exportable", projectId: "<sourceProjectId>" }
  2. Identify BOTH the largeLanguageModel resource ID and its connection resource ID
  3. manage_packages { operation: "export", projectId: "<sourceProjectId>", resourceIds: ["<llmResourceId>", "<connectionResourceId>"], name: "llm-transfer" }
  4. manage_packages { operation: "upload_and_inspect", projectId: "<targetProjectId>", filePath: "<savedTo from export>" }
  5. manage_packages { operation: "import", projectId: "<targetProjectId>", packageId: "<packageId from upload_and_inspect>" }
  6. list_resources { resourceType: "llm_model", projectId: "<targetProjectId>" } to verify the imported LLM is available

Important:

  • export BOTH the LLM and its connection together
  • do not rely on a cross-project connectionId; Cognigy connections are project-scoped
  • this workflow can be fully automated through the MCP tools

    • locale mapping defaults
  3. manage_packages { operation: "import", projectId, packageId, ... }
  4. If needed, poll task status with:
    • manage_packages { operation: "read_task", projectId, taskId }

Export

  1. manage_packages { operation: "export", projectId, resourceIds, name }
  2. By default the archive is downloaded with MCP authentication and saved to a local temp file
  3. The response includes the exact file path, the containing directory path, and file:// URIs for both
  4. Optionally control the destination by passing outputPath
  5. If needed, poll task status with:
    • manage_packages { operation: "read_task", projectId, taskId }
  6. Download an existing package later with:
    • manage_packages { operation: "download", projectId, packageId, outputPath? }
