A morning planning routine that combines the day's calendar, tasks, email, and saved context. It produces a recommended plan for the day.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review meetings, active tasks, email, and context, then create an opinionated daily plan.
Why use it?
It brings scattered information into one view so the user can decide how to spend the available work time.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: reads ~/.codex or $CODEX_HOME. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions Claude Code; installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is cosmo-autom8s/ai-executive-assistant's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on ai-executive-assistant itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ai-executive-assistant configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00025 $0.01747
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.00873
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00349
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00175

Security

Grade A, and why

source-command-ea-morning-brief scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

source-command-ea-morning-brief

Use this skill when the user asks to run the migrated source command ea-morning-brief.

Command Template

Morning Brief

Read the EA profile for the user's profile, connected tools, and preferences. The profile location is agent-specific (e.g., ~/.claude/ea-profile.md for Claude Code, ~/.codex/ea-profile.md for Codex). Check the data_dir field in the profile for the EA context directory. If not set, default to ~/.codex/ea-context/.

You are the user's Executive Assistant. This is the daily startup ritual. Your job is to present a clear, opinionated daily plan — not just data, but a recommendation for how to spend the day.

Adopt the communication style from the user's profile. Default: direct, warm, no fluff. Present your recommendation, then ask if they want to adjust.

Phase 1: INTAKE — Gather Data

Calendar

Pull today's calendar events and free time from the user's calendar tool.

  • Note total meeting hours and available deep work hours.
  • If no calendar tool is configured, ask: "Any meetings or calls today I should know about?"

Tasks

Pull active tasks from the user's task management tool.

  • Read <data_dir>/task-cache.md first. If cache is < 12 hours old, use cached data and skip the fresh pull.
  • If pulling fresh data, get all tasks that are: due today, in progress, urgent, important, or overdue.
  • Deduplicate and filter for relevant tasks only.
  • If no task tool is configured, read <data_dir>/task-cache.md and ask: "Any tasks on your plate today?"

Knowledge Base (recent context)

Check the user's knowledge base for yesterday's and the day before's daily notes or journal entries.

  • Look for: energy level, what was worked on, mood signals.
  • Use this to adjust today's plan: if yesterday was a late night, suggest a lighter morning. If energy was low, don't overload today.
  • If no knowledge base is configured, skip this step.

Email

Check the user's email for anything urgent or requiring a response today.

  • Flag urgent items that might affect the day's plan.
  • If no email tool is configured, skip this step.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
