cratis-arc-spring-data-kotlin

cratis-arc-spring-data-kotlin is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Cratis/AI. It costs 86 tokens per session (1,718 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An Arc integration for using Spring Data JPA or MongoDB as storage for Kotlin and Java read models. Spring Data is a Java data-access framework; JPA maps application objects to relational database tables, while MongoDB stores document data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for repository-backed read-model queries, paging, current-state lookup during commands, observable snapshots, database value converters, and tenant-aware persistence with JPA or MongoDB.
Why use it?
It lets Spring Data handle repositories and database connections while Arc handles its command and query pipeline. It also makes tenant storage, paging, observable queries, and explicit transaction choices part of the application setup rather than assumptions.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Good fit Use it for repository-backed read-model queries, paging, current-state lookup during commands, observable snapshots, database value converters, and tenant-aware persistence with JPA or MongoDB.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00086 $0.01718
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00687
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00344
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00172

Security

Grade A, and why

cratis-arc-spring-data-kotlin scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 164 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Use Spring Data with JVM Arc

Keep Spring Data responsible for persistence and Arc responsible for the model-bound command/query pipeline. Repository injection alone does not isolate tenants or turn a repository into an observable source.

Verified product sources

Source: Arc.Kotlin: Integrations/SpringDataJpa, Integrations/SpringDataMongo (observable query services/extensions, contextual read-model providers, tenant access and converters) and Documentation/guides/spring-data/*.mdx. Add io.cratis:arc-spring-data-jpa:<version> or io.cratis:arc-spring-data-mongodb:<version>; both include the Arc Spring Boot starter and corresponding Spring Data starter. Spring owns repository discovery, datasource/entity manager, Mongo client and their standard configuration.

Query a mapped read model

JPA example (requires the application's normal JPA entity/no-arg setup):

// Copyright (c) Cratis. All rights reserved.
// Licensed under the MIT license. See LICENSE file in the project root for full license information.

import io.cratis.arc.artifacts.FromServices
import io.cratis.arc.artifacts.ReadModel
import jakarta.persistence.Entity
import jakarta.persistence.Id
import org.springframework.data.jpa.repository.JpaRepository

@Entity
@ReadModel
data class TaskView(@Id val id: String = "", val title: String = "") {
    companion object {
        @JvmStatic
        fun all(@FromServices tasks: TaskViewRepository): List<TaskView> = tasks.findAll()
    }
}

interface TaskViewRepository : JpaRepository<TaskView, String>

The same injection pattern works with MongoRepository, fragments or an application query service. Java uses static query methods on its mapped type. Protect the query with the application's authorization policy; mapping does not make it safe to expose anonymously.

A query can declare exact non-null Spring Data Commons Pageable and Sort. KSP binds them from the captured QueryRequest, not thread-local request scope. Such queries must return exact org.springframework.data.domain.Page<T>; Arc normalizes it into QueryPage<T> before renderers, preserving pre-page total count. Page size zero means unpaged; blank sort field means unsorted. Do not confuse Spring Data Page<T> with a nonexistent Arc Page<T>.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
