cratis-chronicle-read-model-specifications

cratis-chronicle-read-model-specifications is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Cratis/AI. It costs 87 tokens per session (3,081 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A testing method for checking how a sequence of events becomes a read model, which is stored data shaped for querying. It runs the projection or reducer in memory without a server, database, or network.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to seed events and assert the resulting read model. It is for projection and reducer behavior, not for testing event storage or command handling.
Why use it?
It tests read-model behavior without the setup and delay of external services. The test can show whether given events produce the expected materialized state.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00087 $0.03081
Opus 5.5 $0.00035 $0.01232
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00616
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00308

Security

Grade A, and why

cratis-chronicle-read-model-specifications scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Chronicle read-model specifications

ReadModelScenario<TReadModel> runs a projection or a reducer in-process against a sequence of events. No Chronicle server, no database, no network — the events go in, the materialized instance comes out.

Pure reducer decisions use Specification plus a direct method call by default, with the event and current state supplied explicitly (for a self model, Model.Reduce(@event, current)). Add ReadModelScenario<TReadModel> only where declarative projection behavior, event dispatch, filtering, metadata or read-model wiring contribute proof.

For a read-model scenario specification the Given is the act. There is no separate When: seeding the events is what makes the projection run.

Route near misses

  • Event appending, constraints, or the event log's own behavior: use cratis-chronicle-event-specifications.
  • A command running through validators, Provide() and Handle(): use cratis-application-slice-specifications.
  • Deciding what the read model or projection should be: use cratis-chronicle-read-model, cratis-chronicle-projection, or cratis-chronicle-reducer.
  • The scope is model-first (its read-model specification blocks and then readmodel rows are the contract). Decide this with the decision rule in cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle: model-first only when an accepted model under the model root covers this scope, or the repository is opted in (opted in per general.md "Model first"; where cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle is installed, run its scripts/model-first-status.mjs); framework, infrastructure, client, adapter and not-opted-in brownfield work stays code-first. Opted in but no model for this scope: model it first (cratis-screenplay-discovery, then cratis-screenplay-slice-design) before writing specifications. If those Screenplay skills are not installed, say so and stop; never author .play from memory. Never edit Stage-managed output, and never change a model specification to match existing code. Author model specifications with cratis-screenplay-specifications and cratis-screenplay-scenario-coverage; check finished code against them with cratis-application-slice-conformance.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
