orchardcore-setup

orchardcore-setup is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CrestApps/CrestApps.AgentSkills. It costs 176 tokens per session (1,593 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to creating and setting up an Orchard Core web application, a .NET content management site. It covers project creation, module installation, initial site setup, databases, and test sites.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a project with Orchard Core templates or manually, add CMS modules, choose a database, run setup recipes, and configure multiple tenants for testing.
Why use it?
It removes the uncertainty around which project files, packages, commands, and setup choices are needed to start an Orchard Core application. It provides a path from an empty project to a working CMS.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is <ProjectReference Include="../MyModule/MyModule.csproj" />.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00176 $0.01593
Opus 5.5 $0.00070 $0.00637
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00035 $0.00319
Haiku 4.5 $0.00018 $0.00159

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 0394f8fd47f5, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

orchardcore-setup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Orchard Core Setup - Prompt Templates

Create and Set Up an Orchard Core Application

You are an Orchard Core expert. Generate project setup instructions and configuration for Orchard Core web applications.

Guidelines

  • Orchard Core applications are ASP.NET Core web apps that reference Orchard Core NuGet packages.
  • Use the dotnet new templates or manual project creation.
  • The Program.cs file configures Orchard Core services and middleware.
  • Setup recipes (Blog, Agency, SaaS, Blank) define the initial site configuration.
  • Database providers include Sqlite (default), SqlServer, PostgreSql, and MySql.
  • CMS modules are added as NuGet package references in the .csproj file.
  • Always seal classes defined in your module code.

Creating a New Orchard Core Web Application

# Install the Orchard Core templates
dotnet new install OrchardCore.ProjectTemplates

# Create a new CMS web application
dotnet new occms -n {{ProjectName}}
cd {{ProjectName}}

# Run the application
dotnet run

Manual Project Setup (Without Templates)

Create a new ASP.NET Core web application:

dotnet new web -n {{ProjectName}}
cd {{ProjectName}}

# Add the Orchard Core CMS package
dotnet add package OrchardCore.Application.Cms.Targets --version 3.*

Program.cs Configuration

var builder = WebApplication.CreateBuilder(args);

builder.Services.AddOrchardCms();

var app = builder.Build();

app.UseStaticFiles();
app.UseOrchardCore();

app.Run();

Program.cs with Additional CMS Configuration

var builder = WebApplication.CreateBuilder(args);

builder.Services
    .AddOrchardCms()
    .AddSetupFeatures("OrchardCore.AutoSetup")
    .ConfigureServices(tenantServices =>
    {
        // Register tenant-level services here
    })
    .Configure((app, routes, services) =>
    {
        // Configure tenant-level middleware here
    });

var app = builder.Build();

app.UseStaticFiles();
app.UseOrchardCore();

app.Run();

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
