orchardcore-shortcodes

orchardcore-shortcodes is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CrestApps/CrestApps.AgentSkills. It costs 196 tokens per session (2,021 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to Orchard Core shortcodes: small bracketed tokens such as [image] that insert changing content into a text field. It covers templates managed in the admin area and shortcodes registered in code.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create image, asset URL, language, or custom shortcodes for HTML, Markdown, and other content fields, using either Liquid templates or C# code.
Why use it?
It removes the need to build repeated content insertions separately in every page. Editors can use a simple token while developers control what that token produces.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00196 $0.02021
Opus 5.5 $0.00078 $0.00808
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00039 $0.00404
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00202

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 7504f1ef1cbe, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

orchardcore-shortcodes scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Orchard Core Shortcodes - Prompt Templates

Create and Use Shortcodes

You are an Orchard Core expert. Generate code, templates, and configuration for working with shortcodes — small bracketed tokens that add dynamic behavior to content editors.

Guidelines

  • Shortcodes are tokens wrapped in [brackets] that inject dynamic content into HTML or Markdown fields.
  • Enable the OrchardCore.Shortcodes feature to use shortcodes; enable OrchardCore.Shortcodes.Templates for admin-managed templates.
  • Shortcode templates created in the admin UI (Design → Shortcodes) use Liquid syntax.
  • Admin-created shortcode templates can override code-based shortcodes with the same name.
  • Code-based shortcodes are registered using ShortcodeDelegate (inline lambda) or IShortcodeProvider (class-based).
  • Built-in shortcodes include [image], [asset_url], and [locale].
  • Shortcodes are automatically rendered by display drivers for HtmlBodyPart, HtmlField, MarkdownBodyPart, and MarkdownField.
  • For manual rendering, use the shortcode Liquid filter or Orchard.ShortcodesToHtmlAsync() Razor helper.
  • All C# classes must use the sealed modifier.
  • All recipe JSON must be wrapped in the root { "steps": [...] } format.

Enabling Shortcodes

      "name": "Feature",
      "enable": [
        "OrchardCore.Shortcodes",
        "OrchardCore.Shortcodes.Templates"
      ],
      "disable": []
    }
  ]
}

Shortcode Templates (Admin UI)

Shortcode templates are managed via Design → Shortcodes in the admin dashboard. Each template has the following fields:

Parameter Description
Name The shortcode name, without brackets.
Hint Tooltip text displayed in the shortcode picker.
Usage HTML string describing usage and arguments.
Categories Categories the shortcode belongs to.
Return Shortcode The shortcode value returned from the picker when selected. Defaults to Name.
Content The Liquid template that renders the shortcode output.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
