gemini

gemini is a skill for Claude Code from cukas/claudes-ai-buddies. It costs 17 tokens per session (623 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that sends a question or task to Google Gemini through its command-line tool and returns Gemini’s response.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to brainstorm, ask for another perspective, or delegate work from the current project directory.
Why use it?
It gives the developer a second AI opinion or lets them delegate part of a task to another AI system.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00017 $0.00623
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00311
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00125
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00062

Security

Grade A, and why

gemini scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

/gemini — Peer AI via Google Gemini CLI

You have access to Google's Gemini CLI as a peer AI. Use it to brainstorm, delegate tasks, get second opinions, or ask questions from a different AI perspective.

How to invoke

Run the wrapper script via Bash:

bash "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/gemini-run.sh" \
  --prompt "YOUR PROMPT HERE" \
  --cwd "/path/to/relevant/directory" \
  --mode exec

Then read the output file path it prints and present the results to the user.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Parse the user's request. The user says /gemini "some prompt" or /gemini followed by a question.
  2. Determine the working directory. Default to the current project root. If the user references a specific repo or directory, use that.
  3. Run gemini-run.sh with --mode exec and the user's prompt via the Bash tool.
  4. Read the output file using the Read tool. The script prints the output file path to stdout.
  5. Show Gemini's raw response directly. Use this format — show their actual words, don't paraphrase or summarize:
🟣 **Gemini:**
> [their full response here, verbatim, as a blockquote]
  1. Add your own take only if asked. If the user wants a comparison or synthesis, add it after Gemini's response. Otherwise, let Gemini's voice stand on its own.

Options

Flag Default Description
--prompt (required) The question or task for Gemini
--cwd current dir Working directory for Gemini
--mode exec Always exec for this skill
--timeout from config (360s) Max seconds to wait
--model from config Override the Gemini model
--sandbox full-auto Sandbox mode: full-auto or suggest

Example invocations

  • /gemini "What's the best way to implement a rate limiter in Go?"
  • /gemini "Review this architecture: we have a React frontend calling a FastAPI backend with Redis caching"
  • /gemini "Write a bash script that finds duplicate files by hash"
  • /gemini "Debug this error: TypeError: Cannot read property 'map' of undefined"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
