Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00071 | $0.00946 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00036 | $0.00473 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00014 | $0.00189 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00007 | $0.00095 |
Grade A, and why
convert-to-avif scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 69 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Convert to AVIF
Encode JPEG/PNG/TIFF to AVIF. AVIF beats WebP on compression ratio and supports 10/12-bit, HDR, and lossless modes. Browser support is universal as of 2024 (Chrome 85+, Firefox 113+, Safari 16.4+).
When to use
- Web-prep where modern browser support is fine.
- Archival of high-bit-depth photos (10/12-bit AVIF preserves more than JPEG).
- Pre-step inside
web-readyorchestrator.
Do not use this skill when:
- Output must work in Safari <16.4 / IE / very old Android browsers — fall back to WebP or JPEG.
- Source is already AVIF — no point re-encoding.
- You need lossless re-encoding of a JPEG that should remain bit-exact-decodable — that's
convert-to-jxl's unique trick, not AVIF's.
Inputs
- Input — file or directory. Required.
- Quality —
avifenc -q N(0–100). Default60(visually equivalent to JPEG q82, much smaller).80for archival;45for aggressive. - Speed/effort —
avifenc -s <0..10>. Default6(balanced).0is best compression but very slow;10is fast but bigger files. - Lossless —
--lossless. Enables lossless mode (ignores quality). For exact archival of PNG. - Bit depth —
--depth 8|10|12. Default8. Use10for HDR or 16-bit source. - Output dir — default:
<input-dir>/avif/. Skill never overwrites originals. - Recursive —
--recursivefor directory descent. - Preserve EXIF — default off (web-prep assumption).
--keep-exifto copy EXIF over viaexiftool.
Procedure
-
Verify
avifencis on PATH. If missing, point atinstall-deps. -
Enumerate inputs (jpg, jpeg, png, tiff — skip others with note).
-
For each file:
avifenc -q <quality> -s <speed> [--lossless] [--depth <n>] "<input>" "<output>"Per-file. avifenc is single-threaded per encode but accepts
--jobs Nfor tile-parallel — useful on large images. For batch parallelism, usexargs -P <ncpu>. -
If
--keep-exifwas set, post-process:exiftool -tagsfromfile "<input>" -all:all "<output>" -overwrite_original
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

convert-to-avif is a skill published in the GitHub repository danielrosehill/Claude-Image-Production-Plugin (17 stars, last pushed 24d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 71 tokens to every session and 946 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
