ideate-visuals

ideate-visuals is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from danielrosehill/Claude-Visual-Communications-Plugin. It costs 21 tokens per session (683 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A visual-idea brainstorming workflow for project content. It reviews source material and suggests ways to communicate important topics, data, or story sections with visuals.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to propose visual treatments for an onboarded content project, such as diagrams, illustrations, or other ways to show its key ideas.
Why use it?
It helps identify where written content may be difficult to understand and turns those sections into specific visual concepts.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00021 $0.00683
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00342
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00137
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00068

Security

Grade A, and why

ideate-visuals scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Ideate Visuals

Analyze source content and propose visual-communication concepts across multiple categories to enhance the piece.

When to use

  • User has set up a project with /onboard-visual-project and wants visual ideas
  • User has content and wants brainstorming on how to visualize key concepts
  • User wants to identify gaps in visual storytelling for a piece

Inputs to gather

  • Project name — If not active, ask which project to ideate for
  • Content review — Optionally, ask if there are specific sections to focus on or types of visuals to emphasize

Procedure

  1. Identify active project. Check for project directories in ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_DATA:-$HOME/.local/share/claude-plugins}/visual-communications/projects/. If multiple projects exist, ask the user which one to ideate for. Read its project.yaml for context.

  2. Read source material. Load the source files referenced in the project config to understand the content, key sections, themes, and audience.

  3. Analyze structure. Identify major topics, complex concepts, data points, and narrative arcs that would benefit from visual support.

  4. Propose 5–8 visual ideas. Suggest concepts across these categories:

    • Hero/Header Image — Conceptual photography or illustration to set tone
    • Explanatory Visuals — Flowcharts, diagrams, infographics, before/after comparisons
    • Conceptual Illustrations — Metaphor-based, symbolic, or visual-analogy representations
    • Data Visualizations — Charts, graphs, data-driven infographics
    • Spot Illustrations & Icons — Small visuals to break text, reinforce points, section dividers
    • Interactive/Animated — Animated diagrams, scrollytelling, hover-reveal graphics
    • Video Content — Explainer segments, animated infographics, B-roll, text animations
  5. Detail each proposal. For each visual, include:

    • Visual type and concept
    • Purpose (how it enhances the content)
    • Recommended placement in the document
    • Complexity: simple | medium | complex
    • Generation method: text-to-image | image-to-image | diagram | video | other

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
