clawql-chatgpt-setup

clawql-chatgpt-setup is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from danielsmithdevelopment/ClawQL. It costs 58 tokens per session (396 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guided setup for ClawQL, a system that connects information sources and searches notes stored in an Obsidian vault. It walks through identity, permissions, a first data source, a sample search, and the available interface areas.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to connect GitHub, Slack, Linear, Notion, Onyx, or Cloudflare; choose or create a vault; test a memory search; and optionally subscribe to processed-document events.
Why use it?
It helps configure the first connection and memory location without putting API tokens in chat or configuration files. It also shows where searches, records, and settings can be found.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00058 $0.00396
Opus 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00158
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00079
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00040

Security

Grade A, and why

clawql-chatgpt-setup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ClawQL setup (ChatGPT onboarding)

ChatGPT runs this skill once after the ClawQL plugin is installed (new conversation, or the current thread if installed mid-conversation).

Steps

  1. Identity — Confirm who the user is connected as and their scope (ATR / vault permissions).
  2. First API source — Help connect one provider (GitHub, Slack, Linear, Notion, Onyx, or Cloudflare). Prefer vault secrets over pasting tokens into chat.
  3. Vault — Pick or create CLAWQL_HOME / Obsidian vault path for memory notes.
  4. Sample recall — Run memory_recall with a concrete query so the user sees vault search working.
  5. Events (optional) — Offer a document.processed subscription if automation is available.
  6. Surfaces — Point to:
    • Console (sidebar global entrypoint) — six-section ClawQL dashboard
    • Evidence (thread tab) — this conversation's tool calls, gates, and WORM entries
    • @-mentions (desktop composer) — vault notes, ontology entities, processed documents

Rules

  • Never put API tokens in MCP JSON or chat history. Use ~/.ClawQL/vault/providers.json or Cursor/ChatGPT secrets.
  • Deployment config (flags, allowlists, redaction policy) stays server-side — not in ChatGPT settings.
  • After setup, summarize: home path, secrets vault path, MCP transport, vendor tested, memory vault status.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
